[After a momentary blackout (caused, no doubt, by a hand over the lens), a pale woman with red hair comes into view. Her sheepish smile is largely overshadowed by the considerable amount of blood on her blouse.]
Hey there. I’m Penny, I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing, and I definitely don’t know where I am—which is completely okay because I think I just died…? [she shakes her head, flustered] I know, that sounds totally insane, sorry. I promise I’m not a crazy person, just… you know, kind of confused.
[She pauses, thinking.]
Um. Does anyone know what’s going on? Or where I could get a new shirt, maybe? This was a cute top, too...

[But if she's just died, then she doesn't remember her previous stay. He pauses slightly before proceeding delicately.]
It is likely that you are dead, but... you're also now in a place where that doesn't hold quite the same significance it normally does. You could think of it as a second chance.

[Her cheerful voice becomes a bit less cheerful.]
I'm all for second chances.

You should get out of the cold, though. There's... well, there's the Welcome Center. [Which feels really odd to say to Penny, of all people.] If nobody's directed you there yet.

[If she seems a little too cheerful for someone who just died and landed in the City, consider it a coping mechanism. Or denial.]

[He's not sure which he's going to call it yet, but he's keeping an eye on it. There was no way she would have missed the fact that her pulse is gone, and he feels like she has a right to be informed. But right now, he feels shifting the topic slightly might not hurt.]
You've been told, then, where you are?

[He doesn't comment on the niceness of the City itself; he's not fond, but he's been trying to be more optimistic about it. Misery never helps. So, focus on a positive.]
It can be very nice-- I think the people here can be credited with that. Most of them make it a point to do whatever they can to help each other.
