[Anya looks unsure and possibly a little uncomfortable, fidgeting with her slightly oversized Viking costume.]

I dunno...am I doing this right...? I mean, I'm not sure if Vikings ACTUALLY dressed like this, but this is all about costumes, right? I swear to God, if something else tries to kill or torture me this month...

[She adjusts the costume again. The whole thing is a little big on her, but she's got the outfit, she's got the helmet...and Pooka's by her feet, a little plastic axe in his mouth.]

Okay. I think I've got everything...so...

...uh. Now what do I do?

I believe you go from door to door and ask for a treat, and if nothing is given to you, you vandalize the property.

[Anya snorts, laughing at the conflicting advice she'd gotten.]

That was what I was told! I was relaying information, not encouraging her to vandalize anyone.

Relax, Pavel, I got the joke, no worries. I'm not gonna go and wreck peoples houses, anyway. I think after this last month, that would be a bit of an overkill.

Looks like you're doing it right to me. As far as what you're supposed to do, I've heard that kids go door to door asking for candy. Adults usually go to parties.

Well...I guess I'd be okay going to a party, if I can find one...they better have candy there, though.

I'm not sure I could terrorize anyone, pitchfork or not.

[That's such a blatant lie it's almost laughable, but he's saying it with such a charming smile that it seems almost plausible.]

I dunno, it's Halloween. Isn't terrorizing people in the name of candy the whole point of the holiday? I think you've got it in you...

Do you? For candy, I could just about give it a try, I bet.

[She beams and nods.]

[Pooka is so ADORABLE. And he yips, temporarily dropping the axe, before picking it up and wagging his tail.]

I think he's more excited for Halloween than I am, to be honest!

I don't blame him.

If you two swing by Cafe Satine, I may even throw in extra doggy treats for him.

[ While oh-so-sweetly coaxing you to buy something huge and sticky and dripping in chocolate. ]

Oooh, did you hear that, Pooka? Dog treats!

[Pooka drops the axe again to yip happily, jumping up and down.]

Well, I think we could stop by for a little bit....

[ So cute, Pooka. If he had a heart it would ttly be melting right now. ]

Just make sure to be careful. During the trip and otherwise. Some awful things happen in the City during Halloween. [ A beat. ] More awful than usual, I mean.

Yeah...yeah, that could sort of sum up the month in a nutshell.
