[Private:]
[If anyone were to poke at Julies personal device, they'd find a series of audio dairies. As much as she enjoys writing, she finds it easier to get her thoughts out if she just said them. Back home, she had a little tape recorder that was full of her speaking. Venting about the day, wishing for ways to fix it. Worrying about her dad. Today's audio diary, while locked to just Julie, can possibly be overheard by people in the house as she records it.Unless someone hacks it, which is totally okay just run it by the mun.]
I was stupid as hell recently. I let my guard down and... [A pause, Julie sighing and swearing off to the side before she continues.] The City reminded me of how things were before. When I first arrived, I actually thought I'd found a part of the world that hadn't been touched at all by the apocalypse, never mind that things had been going to shit. But then I get told "There are curses." and "Shit gets weird sometimes." And I thought I'd be okay with it.
[A faint laugh, one that sounds significantly unimpressed.] R arrives. He's from a different moment in time. Further down. He says we stay overnight in some abandoned house after escaping the airport. I don't care, though, because it's R. R's in the City and I'm so happy to see him because he's different.
That's where my mistake comes in. Not about R. No. Never.
I settle into a routine. We settle into a routine and I forget about how things are at home, because a part of me considers here home.
I guess the City decided that wasn't called for because then the Boneys come and god...there were so many of them. It was terrifying because they are terrifying. They want nothing more than to destroy everything that differs from them and how they want to do things. It's like they're the worst of us intensified. Fuck you, fuck everything you stand for. They don't agree, so you deserve to die.
They want their version of order and will stop at nothing to get it.
[She's quiet for a bit, a faint creaking sound as she sits on her bed and then she's speaking again.]
When I was at the airport with R, the Boney's found us. It's why we ran. They showed R these...polaroids. I don't know what the story was that R saw, but he was shaken up so we decided to leave. You know something is fucking evil if a corpse is scared shitless.
They pair zombies up into 'married couples' and give them children. That's how much control the Boneys have of the zombies.
[Julie's tone changes, becomes something harder.]
R...tore one apart here. It had me, I was going to fucking die at the hands of one of those disgusting things...and R...[And her tone changes again, softening and becoming confused.]
No matter how many times he does it, I'll still be shocked when R rescues me. He tore that Boney to shreds like paper. Didn't even hesitate and the way R moved...he seemed more alive than anything else.
He's changing so much lately. He's speaking more. He smiled the other day. He hugged me after killing that Boney.
[Now she sounds happy. Subdued, but still happy.] It's so neat.
[End audio diary.]

My birthday is coming up soon and I'd like to get so shitfaced that I don't remember what happened the day before. Parties aren't the biggest focus back home, and I'd like a big one.
Who wants to help me plan one?
Also, please tell me you guys are okay.
