( sulu's voice sounds a little belabored, like he's been exercising. his words are curt and to the point. )
Apparently going for the head isn't going to cut it. In case you were wondering.
( there's a sound of something slicing, the ring of metal, and then the feed cuts out. )

( most people would run away from the creepy skeleton creatures, but sulu is determined to find a way through them. he can be found in various city locals, taking them on with a super coolTM sword. you should come say hi. or help. or get into a damsel-y scenario. whatever works, really. )

( he doesn't have time to turn around, so he just angles his sword backs and stabs at the creature coming up behind him. he ends up jabbing it in the stomach, then grabbing his things and scrambling away. it's another few minutes before he gets back to the comm. )
Hey. Thanks for the heads up.

You're all going to give me heart failure before the month is up.
[She's lifted her broom higher to some rooftop, setting her device on a ledge so her hands are free to push through her hair (grime on grime, really), work in braiding it back so it's out of her way. Her jaw is tight, everything in her exasperated and concerned and some edge of her screaming that she can't do this again but her smile is mostly just that sort of tired, bewildered kind.]
I swear to Merlin. Monsters in and out of mirrors and trying to eat people, someone wanted my freckles the other day— [WHO THE HELL WANTS TO STEAL SOMEONE'S FRECKLES.] This bloody stupid month. The Halloween parties might not even be worth it this year.
video;
( his smile isn't very reassuring when he's got some kind of black, blood-like grime dripping down one cheek. he shakes his head, expression going somber. )
If you don't want to celebrate Halloween, we can celebrate surviving this.

I haven't got a costume.

( there might be a bit of challenge in his voice. )

[There is carnage and they are bantering, really.
Ginny glances down and her eyes narrow and this reminds her, vividly, of her position at the battle of Hogwarts, up in the windows and firing spells into the mess below—but no time to dwell or let that swamp her, she raises her wand and grits out her spell in vicious Latin and there's a satisfying explosion below.
Then she glances back at the camera and winks at him, adding on to their conversation with: ]
Cheeky git.
video;
( his breathing's still a little labored, but he's ducked behind a wall for now and seems to be clear of the worst of it. )
But, gold it is.
video;
[HER HAIR IS A MESS RIGHT NOW. Ginny studies him for a moment, lifting the device off the ledge and pulling her broom around so she can check the back of her shop.]
You shouldn't stay still for too long.

video;
[That's where she would be. She's sure Remus is safe but he's just one man and she can't imagine what she would do if everyone else from home were still around. Yes, she misses them, but they're safer at home now.]
Need some help?
video;
( everyone else is useless tbh. )
--sure. I can meet you?
video;
[For real.]
You know where Weasley's Wizard Wheezes is, right? [DIRECTIONS HERE IDEK.] We can beat off some skeletons and get you cleaned up in my office.

[And she switches off the feed and goes to clear a path with her wand.]
action?
you know it bb
And she's still grinning.]
Hi. [Leaning up, swiping a ruined sleeve across her forehead and inclining her head over.] Office upstairs, let's go. Entire place was warded by my brothers and I just added on to them, they can't get in unless we invite them through the front door.

Persistent, all of them. Bloody hell. [And up they go, Ginny's wand still out as she Summons glasses, fills them with water, douses half of it over her own head as she holds out one for him.] It's like the sheep all over again. City got invaded by them a few years ago, rabid sheep, filthy... Just once, I'd like to get through a year where we aren't invaded by anything.

Invasions are the worst, I think. Different from battles or wars... ( his voice trails off, like he isn't quite sure of what he was going to say. )
Something about defending the place you live, I guess.
no subject
I guess. But invasions and battles, they all feel the same. If you've been through enough, it all sort of... blends. You fall back into habits.
[She glances over her shoulder at him, brows knit.]
You know what I'm talking about. You move with that thing like you've had it your whole life. [Then - ] Here, sit down. You're not hurt, are you?

there's a long moments pause as he rolls out his shoulders, stretching out his back and assessing. )
Actually, it's pretty new. Kirk got it for me, before we left on our first official mission.
( which was just over a year ago, but it seems like much longer. )
I've spent more time training for battle than being in it, I guess.

Ginny smiles briefly, crosses the room to him and sits next to him on the small sofa, reaching out with her free hand to feel over his shoulder with the familiarity of someone who's had the same sort of problem.]
I never trained, I was just thrown into it. I suppose between the two of us is the way it should be—though I don't think there ever should be a should when it comes to fighting. [Causes are all very well and good but peacetime is what they all want, isn't it?] If you aren't careful, you're going to pull this. [Speaking now about his shoulder, kneading her fingertips into the tight muscle there.] And it won't matter how fancy you can get with your sword.

still, he manages to mock-wince when ginny touches his shoulder, pulls away and stretches his arm over his head as though to prove a point.
the point being ridiculously stupid male ego.) It's fine.(no subject)
