audio-text: (one day post curse weekend)
[So, guess who's been hiding since seeing R's memory and being turned into a cat?
Julie. That's who. It's a lot to process, finding out that R ate Perry. Though, it's not really finding out if she suspected all along, is it? So the first part goes unfiltered and there's a certain quiet to her voice. It's the sound of someone who just went through something emotionally and mentally draining and only just made it out the other end.]
Hey. Everyone survive the weekend?
[Checking on friends first helps her feel better. Mostly because she's not focused on herself. She's incapable of doing so sometimes.]
Sorry for disappearing. It was partly the City's fault. And some of it was because I needed space, I think.
[And now, the filters.]
[Private to R.]
R. You probably think I'm angry at you and it'd make sense if I was, right? I mean, I probably should be. [A pause, a soft sigh from her and the sound of her shifting on fabric. There's also a breeze. Shes outside the beach house and down the sand a ways.]
The truth is, I'm not. I can't be. You don't...no, that's not right. You didn't have control of your actions then. It'd be wrong of me to blame you. Honestly, I'm angry as fuck at the City. That's a shitty curse. I know. I went through it. Not as badly as you did. The City should have let you tell me yourself. But...it just seems like a huge violation.
[Anther sigh from her, a frustrated one before she continues on.]
Are you alright? That's what I want to know. I'm outside. Come talk to me.
[Now that that's finished.]
[Private to Peter:]
You suck at manicures, but the braid is awesome. And thank you for the distraction. That was a really weird day. Sorry this is a day or so late. I was turned into a kitten and lived in a casino for a day. It was kind of fun.
[Private to Meyer]
We should get you a cat that's actually a cat.

[Although can you really blame him? One minute, there's a cat sleeping there, the next minute... Julie shows up.]

[He's uncharacteristically lost for words here.]
Remember anything about being a cat?

I was a cat. And...
[suddenly filtered to just mercy.]
Did you see what the City did to R?
private
Yeah. Not good.
Re: private
He's not like that anymore, I swear. But if him being there makes you uncomfortable because of it, I get it.

Silence.

Told you.
[silence. Mouth twitching, Say something/]
At home.
You... ran.
Re: private
Come outside, R. I hate talking on these things. They're impersonal.

Re: private
[She almost wanted to tell him to follow his nose but at the moment, that sounded rude. And anyway, she'd end up standing and heading over to meet him part-way when she saw him. ]

Hey, Julie. Good to see you back. You had some people worried, especially Mercy.
Re: video;
And she remembers Dean so she gives him an awkward smile.]
Hi, Dean. I know. And I feel bad. [She sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose for a moment.]
It was a very, very stressful weekend.
video;
At least you're okay now. Should I ask what happened?
Re: video;
Instead...the City told me.
And before I could get home to talk to him about it and reassure him I wasn't angry, I was turned into a cat.
video;
And... so is that.
