[Exactly twenty four hours after R's post, Julie has gone missing. She didn't make it home the night before and there' a valid reason for that.

After leaving Peter's apartment, mildly drunk, she took her time getting home and at exactly midnight, Julie forgot everything about Julie and thought she was nothing more than a fuzzy grey kitten.

Said kitten is now busy growling at the device, batting it with a paw and running off with it's tail straight up and it's fur on end when it reacts.

At least she's not focused on R eating Perry anymore. She just wants to play with the Noisy Growly thing.]

[He's not entirely sure what to do here. The kitten seems pretty small to be wandering around by itself, but then, he doesn't know a whole lot about cats, other than the strays he'd seen as a kid growing up and the ones he sees around New York as an adult. This one doesn't look stray, exactly, but there're no people around, and a kitten this small could easily get hurt out on the street like this.

So really, what choice does he have but to very gingerly pick up the kitten and hold it up, inspecting it curiously. That doesn't tell him a whole lot, but it verifies that, yes, up close, it's still definitely extremely cute.]

[Julie's fine with this, back legs flailing slightly but she settles a moment later. She's purring quite loudly, too. Clearly he's doing something right. So she sort of reaches her paws out to him, not entirely sure why.

She just knows she likes him.]

[Purring is a good sign, right? He may never have had pets before, but he knows that much. Usually, when they're purring, they're probably not going to attack. Which means he feels slightly better about bringing the kitten a little closer and scratching it under the chin.]

Hi.

[Okay, talking to a cat is ridiculous. He has to look around to make sure nobody's watching, but it's late, and the streets are pretty deserted.]

[A tiny mew means hi, right?

Of course it does. And...oh..chin scratchings send help Julie can't think anymore. Her eyes close and the purring gets louder. She tries to curl herself against Meyer.

Meyer, the cat is yours.]

[What little heart he has is now melting, so there's only one thing to do, right? Yep, the kitten is now his. Nobody'll mind, since it's not like the owner was around anyway. Besides, maybe the kitten's hungry. He'll just see if she'll curl up into a little ball in his suit pocket before he starts walking home. She's small enough.]

She has no clue what to make of the damn pocket at first but, yes, she is in fact small enough to fit. There's a tiny kitten face and a paw poking out. She might be asleep in a few minutes. It's cozy in there.]

[By the time he gets home, he's almost used to having a kitten in his pocket, so when he takes off his jacket, he makes sure to very carefully take the sleeping kitten out of it first, and set her down on the kitchen table as he starts poking around to figure out what the hell he's going to have for dinner. Working strange hours means eating at strange hours, after all.]

[Julie wakes up halfway through him cooking and goes to investigate.

She's a nice cat, so there's no winding of herself around his feet. Just several failed attempts at getting on the counter to see what he's doing.

Plus, that smells good.]

[How polite of her not to try to trip him -- and then it occurs to him that maybe she's hungry. Who knows how long she'd been outside, anyway? He's not sure he can feed the cat spaghetti, though. There's still some meat left over from making the sauce, and he figures that'll have to do for now.

He grabs a bowl from a shelf and puts some of the meat into it, then sticks the bowl on the floor. Cats are carnivores, right?]

There you go, Ketsele.

[Ah, talking to a cat again. And this time, he seems to have even named her. Not a very imaginative name, to be fair, but still. It's something.]

[She meows again, purring loudly as she sniffs the food. This works for her and she takes a few bites.

Awkwardly. The bowl doesn't want to hold still for her. It keeps moving and she keeps chasing it until she finally has it in a corner. Score one for Ketsele.

..she may have to actually get halfway into the bowl to get the last bit. Help?]

[He can't help but laugh at her antics, the way she chases her bowl into the corner, and finally, when he sees that she can't get the last bit, he bends down and picks up the last bite of food, holding it out to her. Really, he can't believe he's doing this, but there's nobody to see him but the cat.]

[Meyer, did you see that bowl? That bowl was being r u d e. She's careful about taking the food. Well, as careful as paws wrapped around his fingers can be. There might be a faint claw or two which she will apologize about soon.]

[She's being careful enough for him to pat her head and scratch under her chin, and then take his plate to the table. She can frolic around while he eats, but he hopes she'll settle down at some point, too. Of course, sitting at the table, that leaves his lap wide open for being jumped on.]

[Dude. Dude, did you know that there are things hanging from your fork? Things that must be investigated.

This means a well timed pounce that she spends at least a minute gearing up for. There are wiggles and false starts and loud mews before she actually launches off the table at the spaghetti noodle!

...only to miss by a lot and fall into his lap.

Well, fuck.]

[He's sure glad he's alone right now, because laughing this hard at the tiny cat that just fell into his lap is anything but dignified, and it really doesn't suit his image as a guy who never has fun.

Very carefully, he pats her on the head, and resists the urge to dangle more noodles in her face. She can stay on his lap, and he can pretend that he doesn't find it endearing. He wonders, vaguely, if she'll let him get any sleep tonight.]
