So I hope I've done this right, because I reaaaaally need to talk about this, and my son would be mortified if he knew I was.

My son approached me the other day talking about how he was effectively seeing two people. At the same time. Not behind one or the other's back, but together. And...this is so far out of my wheelhouse that I'm seriously considering buying out the entire wine section at the grocery store as a coping mechanism.

Should I be discouraging this? Or supportive? Or what? My teenage son is...ugh, I don't even know, anymore.

Firstly, if your son would be mortified to know you're talking about this, he's probably going to be. Secrets in the city last about as long as an icicle in hell, particularly when you upload them to a public network. Just be prepared for it.

Secondly, did he say it was love, or fun?

Did I mention the part where I'm kinda freaked out and not really sure what else to do? Because I'm pretty sure I mentioned that part.

I...knowing my son, I'd say love. That's what has me so worried.

Well, I'm not an expert on kids, but I'd go with being supportive. [ If he knew what it was to have a mother and she tried to talk him out of it, he's got a strong feeling he would have stuck to it that much more. ] He's a great kid with a good head on his shoulders. If everyone involved knows where they stand, leave 'em to it. But be there if he needs you.

[ He shrugs, a little apologetic, not sure if he's helping or making it worse, but he's good at seeing a situation from all sides. ]

On the other hand, if you need a drinking buddy, let me know.
