[ Melissa is not in her scrubs this time, but her civvies, and she’s smirking quietly to herself. The memory of Scott closing the door in his father’s face is one that she’ll treasure for a very long time. ]

Hello? Scott McCall and I are back again. I think we just took a year off the poor worker’s life, the guy doing the drywall in the clinic? Yeah, not pretty. I’ve never seen a saw bounce before. Hope I never see it again.

[ And, sure enough, there’s a very loud buzzing just off camera. Apparently the worker heard that. Oops.

Into the feed, a wild Scott McCall appears! Just his head, anyway, leaning down into it beside his mother’s. ]

But, he’s fine, he’s fine! [ He looks off screen.. ] Nobody was injured. [ He looks back. ] Sorry to anybody if we had plans. But, we’re back now and we’re not planning on going anywhere. [ Unless everyone else gets out with them.

Melissa pokes her head back into frame again.]

Oh! And Lydia? Tell me you fed the cat? I mean...how long have we been gone, after all? Ziggy wasn’t too much of problem, was he?

[ Scott is about to say something else, but he notices something offscreen. ] No way. [ And he slides out of frame leaving Melissa to take the reins. Offscreen… ] Cool.

...Okay. Just a note to say we’re back. Stiles, Isaac, Derek? Are you all okay?

[ And Scott is back. ]

You’re still here, right? [ Scott brings it closer, fiddling and then soon, the feed is private! ]

So, that’s what leaving is like. We had no clue we were here. And then we were just… back. If anybody needs us, we’ll be back at the apartment in a couple of minutes. Angela, I’ll be in to work tomorrow. [ A beat before he adds ] Has anybody heard from Wally?

She's your sister. [ Scott's not surprised it was. And, speaking of alphas... ] Lydia and my mom know. I'm going to tell Isaac and Stiles. You know what Deucalian believed I was? Why he wanted me?

[ He looks at Derek. ]

I did it. [ A pause. ] I became an alpha. [ He lets that sink in. ] Jennifer threw down a circle of mountain ash and I got through.

[He takes a moment, and finally he nods]

Isaac, Stiles, Allison -- the alpha twins, they're my pack. [ They were. ] I get it now. Stiles is yours. [ How does he breach this topic, what does he want to say? He won't try to take Stiles and Isaac away? ]

What do you mean, Stiles is mine?

[He's not saying anything, he's letting that one just...go.]

He lives with you? You protect him? You trust each other. You had a year here without any of us. Isn't he your pack?

But it's up to him, Scott. It's up to Isaac, too. I'm not forcing anyone to stay.

And I'm not forcing anyone to leave. They should be able to choose what they want to do. But, I won't stop looking after them. [ Maybe, somehow, they can all work together. Have any packs had dual leaders? Not that he can promise what his behavior will be like. He just became an alpha. ]

She doesn't like that Stiles lives with you but she understands it. And she knows everything. So does Stiles' dad, now. And Lydia. Stiles is the only one who doesn't.

I'm telling him I'm an alpha. And I'm telling him that things are okay. If I told him the rest, he'd worry. He hates it here a lot of the time. I can't add on to that. He doesn't need to know about his dad. It would only hurt him.

[He nods, accepting that]

He would worry.

And he shouldn't. His dad is safe. My mom is safe. There are things he doesn't need to know. [ They're are things everyone doesn't need to know. ]

I told you all of this [ And Lydia ] because I'm tired of keeping secrets and leaving people out of the loop. It puts them in danger. If you want to know anything, just ask. I know it sounds hypocritical - with Stiles.

We agree on that. We agree on a lot, Derek. We worked together. We can here, too. I don't know how it would work - what having two alphas in a pack would mean but if there's a pack of alphas, couldn't we do it?

[He reaches out and puts his hand on Scott's shoulder]

[ That he's honestly not expecting. But, he nods once to that. He believes it and Derek really does, too. His heartbeat doesn't tell a lie. Sorry, Scott listens sometimes. ]
