[The video starts abruptly, as if by accident. Anya is in the bedroom of her tiny apartment, on her knees, digging through a trunk in a state of panic. The room itself is in a state of disarray, with clothes strewn everywhere, sheets ripped off the bed, furniture moved in strange locations...]

No no nononono, it has to be here, it has to be...! I had it last night, where is it...?

[Whatever she's looking for, it's not in the chest, and she lets out what sounds like a frustrated sob, turning the chest over before curling in on herself.]

I can't have lost it...I can't have...it's all I've got left...

[She lets out another sob, before looking up and realizing the camera is on. The sorrow on her face is immediately replaced by anger, and she moves to grab the device. There's a tattoo on her face that wasn't there before, but she doesn't seem to notice or care about that.]

Okay, which one of you took it? Which one of you stole my necklace? I swear, when I find where it is, when I find out who took it, I will make you regret even THINKING about touching it.

[She's very, VERY pissed, and the video gets cut off before she can threaten you all properly.]

[ooc: Anya's got Chakotay's tattoo today, and he's got her Together in Paris necklace, which she is pretty pissed about not having.]

[She heads off, quick as she can, and she'll be waiting by the edge of the fountain, trying not to poke at her face too much. It's weird to her, having something there she can't see.]

[ meanwhile it's just as weird to him to not have something on his face. he recognizes her immediately, making his way over. ]

I think we each have something that belongs to the other. You might want to try getting the necklace off. It doesn't work when I try.

[Her face lights up upon seeing that yes, her necklace is still okay. She nods, approaching.]

Okay, lemme give it a try...then we'll see if we can't figure out how to give you back your tattoo.

[She reaches for her necklace, unhooking the clasp...and just like that, it comes off, and is back in her hands.]

[ he pauses, letting her take the necklace off. strange that it was so easy. ]

Well, one down. Now to figure out how to get the tattoo to move.

[ he's hesitant to do anything without this woman's permission, doesn't want to find out the hard way what might be necessary to switch things back. ]

Hmm...maybe you need to touch it, or something? Go ahead, it's fine.

[ he pauses for just a minute longer before reaching up to run a finger over the marks just above her eyebrow. it's strange to see those marks on someone else and know they were no longer on his own face. he had grown so accustomed to the tattoo that not having it feels as though he's lost a part of himself. he's lost his history, who he is.

a frown creases his brow. ]

[ time to try placing his palm against the mark. maybe that will work. ]

Hm...so it is.

[She frowns. Touching her necklace worked, so why didn't it work for him?

[ that seemed to do it. chakotay blinked and the tattoo had gone from the woman's face. he removed his hand, letting it fall back to his side. ]

I think it did this time.

[ and he tilts his face a little so she can see if it really did or not. ]

[She squints, smiling and nodding in approval.]

Yep, its there!

[ he runs a finger across it, tracing the edge where he knows it is. he might not be able to see it, but he knows. ]

Thank you for keeping it safe for me. [ not that she'd had much choice. tattoos were difficult to damage. ] Do you think this was the most recent curse?

Yeah, no problem. Thank you for keeping my necklace safe...

[She shrugs, nodding and fiddling with her necklace absentmindedly.]

Probably. It makes sense...how else could I end up with your tattoo?

It's a lovely necklace. I didn't want it to get damaged. [ because that's how he treats everything, especially if it isn't his. things are important to people and they deserve to be treated with respect. ]

There's no other way I know of. Unless someone's come up with a magical way to steal personal marks. In that case, I might even have to congratulate them.

[ it's said in a teasing sort of way, an attempt to break some of the tension. ]

[Ugh. Magic. She can't help but smirk a little at that...though her smile does soften a little at the compliment towards her necklace.]

I wear it in honor of my father and our people. To me, it is one of the most important parts of my life. [ so it's nice to have it back. he's starting to feel a little more whole again. ]

Oh...[Well, now she feels sort of awful for having had it.]
