[Isaac’s face appears on the device, looking troubled and confused. He scratches the back of his head pensively while thinking of the right words to say.]

Uh, hey, I guess? I literally just got here, wherever here is, and I’m kinda lost. If anyone could help me get back home it’d be great. [He sighs]

There’s a lot going on back home and I’m worried about my p- [He cuts the word off] My friends.

I mean, there has to be some way to get back, right? Even though I don’t remember how I got here...

[He’s quite clearly at a loss. Its been a while since he had to deal with things by himself and he finds himself caught off guard by the sudden feeling that he was lacking something he didn’t realise he was relying so heavily on. He drops his arm, taking his face momentarily out of sight while breathing deeply, trying to come to some kind of decision of where to go, what to do when he catches a familiar scent, one that he’s had to track before.

Suddenly his face comes back into view, some degree of nervous excitement spanning across his features, after all if he was right then that means he wasn’t totally alone.]

This might sound weird but uh, Stiles... are you here?

[He stares into the screen of the communicator as if trying to will the other boy into existence because if Stiles was here, and Isaac definitely knew that scent then that meant that other people could be here, his pack.

He wouldn’t risk howling, not right now at least in the unfamiliar territory but it was something he kept in the back of his mind while heading in the direction of the nearest building.]

[Hello there first stranger.]

Uh hi, I found Stiles. He explained things to me, I guess I'm okay as I should be?

[She's a nice stranger! Really!]

So you know about the whole different dimension thing? And the curses? I promise it's not as bad as it sounds at first, and you're not freaking out, so... you know. You're doing really well.

Yeah the different dimension was the first thing I heard... the curses are a new addition. [He looks into the screen with a 'what can you do' gesture.]

Guess I just have to sit tight.

Oh! Um... sorry to spring that on you.

Do you need anything? Directions, answers... food.

Scott-- uh, I don't know if you've met him? He's taking me to his apartment. There are like things here? I mean I was told I get an allowance but is there any need to spend it, there's stores, right? [Because this is an important factor, clearly.]

Sure, I've talked to Scott. Stiles, too. Are you all friends?

There're all kinds of stores, and I guess you don't need to spend money on anything but food and whatever if you don't want to. You don't really need to get a job, either, but it can get kind of boring if you don't have anything to do.

Yeah we all go to school together.

[He laughs slightly.] I'm not sure I have the skills for a job, unless there's a cemetery? [Yep, his only work experience involved digging graves, and he'd given that up as soon as his dad died.]

You won't have to do that anymore. School, I mean. There isn't a school around here.

There is a cemetery, actually! No one dies, though, so maybe there aren't too many jobs available. But if you want to work, it's not too hard to find something. I don't have many skills, either, and I found a job.

Yeah, I mean with no school? Things will get pretty boring, or relaxed. Or I'll get lazy-

[He scratches the back of his head laughing, he was having a crisis of 'what do I do next', especially considering he'd spent much of the last year fighting for his life in a myriad of scenarios.]

I hope you'll have a chance to get lazy. Things can get crazy.

I'm Penny, by the way. It's great to meet you.

[He sort of waves at the screen.]

I'm Isaac, and yeah its nice to meet you too, considering the circumstances.

[She waves right back.]

It takes some getting used to, being in another dimension. At least you don't have any deities to deal with.

Deities? [Natural curiosity wins all the time.]

You missed out on a rebellion. These complete strangers showed up about a month ago and kicked the deities out. I'm not sure what the deities were, exactly, but they acted like they controlled curses and who comes and goes.

Right... [He didn't completely get it but it seemed like it didn't matter if it was in the past.] So uh, there's people in charge?

[Penny has been in the City so long that she forgets how odd all of this--deities, curses, everything--must sound to newcomers.]

Kind of? Not so much anymore. The new guys're more worried about getting a handle on the curses than playing god.

That's better? I mean do they want to get rid of them? [Because curses sounded pretty bad right now.]

It's not worse. I think that they're trying to get rid of the curses, it's just not going so well. Last month, people started getting sick because of... I don't know, curse energy building up. I guess the City doesn't work the way it's supposed to without the curses.

[Oh, great.] I'd rather be cursed...

Honestly? Me too, but we don't get much of a choice.

Guess I'll just have to add it to the list of things I have to look forward to. [He rolls his eyes, everyone was doing a really great job of selling the city.]
