[Little baby Korra clambers up onto the edge of the Fountain. She's an itty bitty thing, so it's with some difficulty, but with the help of some earthbending, she makes it up.

She stands there imperiously. She's not sure whether the picture thingy on the weird little whatchawhatever is set up right, but she's four years old. She doesn't actually care. She's got a job to do!

She straightens up and looks as grown-up as she can.]

I'M THE AVATAR.

[ooc: Korra's been a bb all weekend! Housemates & friends can run into her at any point over the weekend. Everyone else will find her today at the Fountain.]

[Where the hell did that kid go!? Dealing with a pint sized Avatar was weird at first, but now it's headache inducing, especially when she disappears on him in the City. He'd agreed to take her out as long as she agreed to be well behaved, and now that decision is biting him in the butt.

Thankfully, all he needs to do is follow her voice when she eventually yells. He follows the direction of her proclamation, marker and stickers in hand, and his breath drags.]

There you are. [He's scowling tiredly as he approaches, but he needs to label the fountain before he can address Korra; he places down a sticker and writes on it, MAKO WAS HERE. Then he can look up at her.]

Korra, get down from there!

[Korra scowls at Mako. HE'S SUCH A BORING BORINGFACE.]

NO. [pointing a finger at him] I'M THE AVATAR, AND YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!

You said you were going to listen to me! So far all you've done is run away.

[Ughhhghgh it's not his fault he keeps getting sidetracked.]

[ Standing at a corner ice-cream stand, Hei regards the colorful selection of flavors. He's just returned from work, and is considering a detour at the scooter shop a block away, before heading to his flat. (Maybe Pai would like a scooter? A little vintage model -- something in pastel shades -- to zip to and from home?) Lip bit, he debates between the cookies-&-cream and the peanut-butter-cup, when he hears a dismally familiar shout. I'm the Avatar. ]

[ Hei cringes; automatically disguises the cringe with a twitch of his nose. Not again. ]

[ Empty-handed, he drifts without hope to the City square. There, on the Fountain, looking as puffed-up and self-important as only a 4-year-old can, is Bitty Korra. This time, the sight of her doesn't tug at his heartstrings with that familiar bassline of Pai, Pai, Pai. But he is conscious of a sharp strumming in chest -- concern and self-awareness. In its wake, two separate thoughts bloom. Is she alone? and Is it Pai she reminds you of, or is it just yourself? ]

[ Hei shakes it off. Lips pursed around his thumb and forefinger, he gives a whistle that's alarmingly loud. Once he has her attention, he says, ]

Avatars don't climb fountains.

[Korra crosses her arms and glares imperiously at Hei.]

Yes they do. [She just did. Therefore, they do.]

[ There's a sharp stare, but underneath his face is softening into a quiet neutrality. On instinct, he studies their surroundings, hoping for some sign of Korra's friends. Why does he always run into her alone and unsupervised? ]

[ To Korra: ] Not if they want seal blubber jerky. [ The bribe would sound more attractive if his tone weren't so hard. Sorry, kiddo. He needs a moment to modulate his voice as he slips into a different role. ]

[Mako's around........somewhere. He probably got distracted by labeling yet another thing as his. (In fact, Hei will no doubt notice a sticker on Korra's arm with the word "mako" on it.)

She perks up at the words "seal blubber jerky," but his tone makes her a little suspicious.]

I want seal blubber jerky.

[ He notices. And wonders. For a span of two heartbeats. But right now his focus is on getting the mouthy brat home. She brings her own troubles wherever she goes -- but unlike last time, he's not keen on getting tangled up in them. Crouching, he extends a hand. Any trace of sharpness is carefully concealed, even if he seems a little tense. That's always how it goes, doesn't it? Something about this little girl just makes him feel outsized and barbed and clunky, as if his discomfort has knotted his insides up in ropes of thorns, each individual prick a reminder that he shouldn't be near children at all. ]

[ Aloud, he says only, ] I know where to get some. [ A beat, then -- ] Do you remember who I am?

[It's been a couple days and our hero has come to the realization that maybe he's going to be here a little bit longer than anticipated. And if he's going to be here a bit longer than anticipated, then he better get some clothes that aren't red and stretchy. Thus far, he's having no luck because clothes shopping sucks and is boring and he got hungry. So now, he is in the square with an armful of hot dogs that may have cost him the rest of his clothes money.

He's on the last one when he notices a kid climbing up on the fountain and screaming stuff, apparently unattended. Wally shoves the last of his dog into his mouth and zips over to her in a blur.]

Whoa, kid, that's not the safest place you could be. Need help getting down? Where are your parents?

[WOAH. THAT GUY IS FAST.]

[Welcome to baby Korra, who says what she thinks when she thinks it. (Not too different from adult Korra, really...)]

I sure am, kiddo. That's kinda my thing. Anyway, how about we get you off of this thing and find your parents? We can get ice cream too!

[Don't worry, Flash is the same way. But he's also a really nice guy! He needs her cooperation - since no one knows him here, people aren't going to be too keen on some costumed weirdo grabbing a random, unwilling kid. He is not above bribing children with sweets.]
