[trenchknives]

[Jimmy's walking down the street near the fountain, uncharacteristically bright smile on his face. It's obvious he doesn't know he's recording this, since he's not at all paying attention to the camera. His pace speeds up a little as he heads towards the fountain, the tone in his voice full of amusement as he calls out.]

Hey, Tommy, c'mon, I'm not gonna chase you!

[That is, however, exactly what he starts doing. There's a little kid running in front of him, a boy of about four, who seems completely unconcerned with the fact that he's in a new and unusual place. He's running, giggling, holding onto a bag of candy, and Jimmy's following behind him as closely as he can.]

All right, all right, slow down! You're too fast for your dad, kiddo.

[The little boy sits down on the edge of the fountain and pops a piece of taffy into his mouth. Eventually, Jimmy sits down beside him, brushing the little boy's hair out of his eyes. The little boy looks up at him, looking serious for a moment, and asks "Where's mommy?"]

Well, y'know...

[Jimmy pauses for a minute, slightly uncomfortable, and then grins down at the kid.]

We're on a little vacation, just you 'n me, okay? Just the guys. Mommy's at home, workin' on her paintin', and y'know she can't get anythin' done when we're havin' this much fun.

[He ruffles Tommy's hair, then immediately realizes his device is on, and switches it off with a bit of a sheepish smile.]

[[OOC: Jimmy's son is here for the fourth wall, and you can run into Jimmy and Tommy around the fountain, or anywhere else in town, really!]]

He's a pretty damn great guest, although with all this candy he's been eatin', I'm pretty sure he's gonna be a pretty damn energetic guest, too.

[cupio]

Between your son and your dog, you probably won't get any sleep at all. [ :D ] I'm totally available for babysitting both or either if you need time?

[trenchknives]

Do you wanna come meet my son? The dog'll be there, too.

[A grin.]

[cupio]

I really do.

[ She's weak, okay? ]

[trenchknives]

You wanna come meet us by the fountain? We'll be here, eatin' all this candy.

[Or at least, Tommy will.]

[cupio]

Sure.

[ Ten minutes later and here she is, offering both Jimmy and his son a smile. ] Hi guys. [ She crouches down by Tommy and in very much a stage whisper, holds out a bag of strawberry laces. ] I used to make my mom buy me these. I thought I should share.

[trenchknives]

[Tommy stares at her, and then reaches out for the bag, whispering a little "thank you" in return. Jimmy grins.]

I think he's gettin' more candy now than he's ever had in his life. I'm probably spoilin' him, but...

[A shrug, and then he remembers he should make proper introductions.]

Tommy, meet Clary. Clary, meet Tommy.

[cupio]

You're the cutest little guy I have ever seen. [ Seriously Jimmy, stop producing adorable babies or she'll start following you around more. ]

You're being good for your dad, right? Because he's totally keeper of the candy.

[trenchknives]

["I'm not little," Tommy asserts, "I'm four." Jimmy shakes his head and smiles at Clary.]

Yeah, four. So old. How'd I end up with a kid this old?

[That's actually a legitimate question, but he's asking it teasingly anyway, ruffling Tommy's hair.]

[cupio]

[ She laughs, watches the boy with amusement. ]

Oh, sorry. I'm old so my eyes aren't so good. I have to squint to see how old people are. [ Over-exaggerated peering. ] See?

[trenchknives]

[Tommy's eyes widen a little. "How old are you?" he asks shyly.]

C'mon, Tommy, it's not nice to ask a lady how old she is.

[He can be as reproachful as he wants, but he can't keep the amused tone out of his voice.]

[cupio]

Sixteen. That's super old, right?

[trenchknives]

[Tommy nods, but Jimmy groans.]

Shit, if sixteen is old, what does that make me?

[cupio]

[ Clary tries to hide her laughter. ]

I think being his dad gives you some points, right?

[trenchknives]

I think bein' his dad just makes me seem even older.

[Tommy nods even more solemnly.]

[cupio]

You are literally the cutest.

[ Tommy, not Jimmy. Jimmy's pretty cute too though. ] So what games do you like to play?

[trenchknives]

[Tommy frowns thoughtfully.]

I like to play with toy soldiers, and I like to play hide 'n seek...

[cupio]

I'm not very good with toy soldiers. [ Her mom had hated even the thought. At the time she thought it had something to do with the man her she had told Clary was her dad.

Now she knows it's much darker. So she merely smiles. ] I'm awesome at hide and seek though.

[trenchknives]

Will you play hide and seek with me?

[Jimmy just manages to hide a smile at Tommy's question. He doesn't really approve of toy soldiers, either, mostly because he's been the real thing, and he doesn't want Tommy thinking it's a good idea.]

[cupio]

Of course!

[ Then to Jimmy. ] That's okay, right?

[trenchknives]

[He nods.]

Sure. He gets frustrated when I play hide 'n seek with him, 'cause I ain't any good at hidin', so maybe he'll like it better with you.

[cupio]

[ Her laughter is bright. ]

Okay Tommy, you hide and I'll find you. I won't peek, I promise.

[trenchknives]

[Tommy gives her a considering look, and then scampers off to hide, probably somewhere pretty obvious. He apparently takes after his father in his decided inability to hide. Jimmy just grins at her.]

He's usually pretty shy with new people, but he seems okay with you. My dog likes ya, my kid likes ya... guess you must pretty okay, right?

[cupio]

[ She has her hands over her eyes but she still grins when he speaks. ]

I'm awesome. I can tame anything.
