[Jimmy's walking down the street near the fountain, uncharacteristically bright smile on his face. It's obvious he doesn't know he's recording this, since he's not at all paying attention to the camera. His pace speeds up a little as he heads towards the fountain, the tone in his voice full of amusement as he calls out.]

Hey, Tommy, c'mon, I'm not gonna chase you!

[That is, however, exactly what he starts doing. There's a little kid running in front of him, a boy of about four, who seems completely unconcerned with the fact that he's in a new and unusual place. He's running, giggling, holding onto a bag of candy, and Jimmy's following behind him as closely as he can.]

All right, all right, slow down! You're too fast for your dad, kiddo.

[The little boy sits down on the edge of the fountain and pops a piece of taffy into his mouth. Eventually, Jimmy sits down beside him, brushing the little boy's hair out of his eyes. The little boy looks up at him, looking serious for a moment, and asks "Where's mommy?"]

Well, y'know...

[Jimmy pauses for a minute, slightly uncomfortable, and then grins down at the kid.]

We're on a little vacation, just you 'n me, okay? Just the guys. Mommy's at home, workin' on her paintin', and y'know she can't get anythin' done when we're havin' this much fun.

[He ruffles Tommy's hair, then immediately realizes his device is on, and switches it off with a bit of a sheepish smile.]

[[OOC: Jimmy's son is here for the fourth wall, and you can run into Jimmy and Tommy around the fountain, or anywhere else in town, really!]]

[BEAMING.]

Well, there's no way I'm having you come to work now.

[At first Ruby thinks she must be seeing things. She'd been wandering around town trying to find people she knew, and Jimmy was pretty near the top of the list, but she thinks she might have made a mistake when she sees him with a little kid, and it takes her a moment to remember that he has a son of his own.]

Long time no see.

Hey, I can still come to work, if I can bring the kid with me!

[He turns his attention back to his son for a moment.]

Right, Tommy? Don't you wanna see this nice lady?

[He looks up, surprised to hear her voice, not having expected her to come back any time soon. Sure, he knows there're visitors here, but that doesn't mean he'd gotten his hopes up. He breaks into a grin.]

Hey! Didn't think I'd be seein' you!

Well, you can visit, but I'm not making you do anything else behind the counter. Don't you dare.

[She's already waving at the camera with this broad, pleased grin on her face.]

Hi, Tommy!

[ Her heart might just burst into sunbeams or something. ]

Having fun?

[Tommy had run off as soon as they'd arrived in the City. Richard had strode through the streets, peering in shop windows and down side alleys, glaring defiantly back at the people who passed who didn't even try to hide their open stares at his mask.

Eventually he comes to the fountain square, and initially sighs in relief as he sees Tommy, but then freezes as he sees who he's with. He suddenly realises why the boy had wandered off, that childish instinct that knows when their father is near.

And while he's overcome with emotion at seeing his long dead friend, he also feels very uncomfortable. He's back on the outside, looking at pictures of happy families in his scrap books.

It's a long time before he can bring himself to go over, not wanting to intrude on their time together.]

I told you not to wander off, Tommy.

Okay, sure, we'll do what you say.

[Tommy waves at her, and Jimmy grins as he addresses him.]

See, this lady's my boss. So you gotta be nice to her, okay? Otherwise, she can get pretty scary.

[He's joking. Mostly. He stands and hefts Tommy onto his back.]

We'll be right there, okay?

Sure, we're havin' fun, ain't we, Tommy?

[Tommy nods a little.]

He's...

[His immediate response had been "he's fine, I've got him," but as he processes exactly who that voice belongs to, he stops speaking, and a smile spreads across his face as he looks up.]

Didn't think I'd see you here.

[He's not sure why not. Other people from home had shown up here, hadn't they? And Tommy had been a pleasant surprise -- why shouldn't Richard be here, too?]

I think you definitely got the best guest.

He's a pretty damn great guest, although with all this candy he's been eatin', I'm pretty sure he's gonna be a pretty damn energetic guest, too.

I got back last night. Well, early this morning really.

The sun appears from behind a cloud and she raises a hand to shield herself from it, squinting and going a little dizzy, still very hungover.

I was hoping to see you. I don't know if I'm back to stay or if I'll end up zapped back at any moment, so I wanted to make sure I could say hi.

There've been a lotta people visitin' so far. It's probably temporary.

[There's some sadness that crosses his face for a moment, as he looks from Ruby back down to Tommy, who's immersed in unwrapping another piece of candy.]

Glad to see you while you're here, though. C'mere.

[Yep, he's going for a hug.]

[Ginny bares her teeth in a mock growl but it's more like a grin because she can't keep a straight face around A CUTE ADORABLE LITTLE BOYYYYY. So it breaks with a laugh.]

I bet you'll get stopped at least five times on the way over so people can say hello to your son. But alright, I'll see you in a bit.

[It's true, he does get stopped at least five times. Maybe ten. He's lost count. It makes him smile, though, and he's proud of Tommy, so he isn't complaining.

Eventually, though, he shows up, Tommy on his back.]

Hey, we're here to visit. And definitely not to work, I promise.

[Ginny's going to wear some marks into this counter with the way she keeps scrambling over and around it to get to people. She reaches up to ruffle Tommy's hair, grinning broadly.]

Hi, love. I'm Ginny. How are you? [Then - ] Jimmy, he looks like you.

[Tommy gives her a curious look, then a tiny smile, speaking quietly: "Hi Ginny. I'm Tommy. I'm four." Jimmy grins at both of their comments.]

I guess he kinda does, yeah. He looks more like his mom, though.

[He sets Tommy down carefully, giving him a stern look.]

Don't go makin' a mess, kid. I gotta answer to Ginny if we do.

I didn't think I'd ... see you.

[Ever again. But Richard feels uneasy at that part. Jimmy must be dead, he'd always known it, the way soldiers always know when their comrades lose a battle. He didn't like him being right here in front of him, it was unnatural.]

[Ginny follows the little boy, crouching down to his level and drawing her wand, eyes alight.]

You won't get into trouble, will you, Tommy? Here, want to see a magic trick? [And with a little flick, multicoloured bubbles float from her wandtip - and when they pop, it's in a harmless shower of sparks, like mini fireworks.] Look.

Well, y'know, I've been stuck here. Time ain't supposed to pass while I'm gone, though, so don't worry, you ain't missin' anything back home.

[It strikes him that they could be from different times, but he's not sure he wants to ask.]

[Tommy's eyes widen at the bubbles, and then even more so at the sparks, and his little smile grows a bit bigger.]

Is that real magic?

[Jimmy laughs, but he'll let Ginny answer that question.]

[Jimmy, she can't deal with this, he's so adorable. She grins and leans in to whisper, as if telling a secret.]

Yes. I'm a witch. [And because she knows how Muggle kid's stories spin witches sometimes.] But a good one.

[She glances up at Jimmy and winks then back to Tommy - ]

It's my secret, can you keep it for me?

[Tommy nods solemnly.]

I swear. I won't tell anybody.

[Jimmy really can't contain his grin, so he has to turn away for a moment, to keep the fact that he knows the 'secret' hidden. Tommy continues to stare at Ginny.]

What else can you do?

Every wanted to fly?

[She reaches out to take his hand gently and with a hidden flick of her wand behind her back, they both levitate just a few inches off the ground.]
