[For anyone that's in the Glass City, this will come off static-y as hell. Images will distort, freeze and audio will come off wrong. Words will be missing and cut off at the wrong times. But it is clearly Charlie and Ed in a van, checking over blankets secured over windows. Ed's checking it frequently and Charlie's swatting his hands away.]

Would you stop that?! [It's Charlie. She sounds exasperated. She gets an annoyed look from Ed, a look that does fuck-all to hide the worry.] You keep checking it and it'll end up falling. Leave it be.

How do I know you even bothered to secure it right to begin with? [Ed. Still sounding annoyed.]

You could try trusting me, you know.

You---I don't want to. [There's the sound of a metal door creaking open, a hiss and video of Ed flinching away from a small shaft of sunlight and Charlie speaks again, picking up her device. The door slams and Charlie notices the device is running.]

Any explanation for what's going on, here?

What? [Charlie looks at Sam, briefly surprised.] Why? I mean, I know why. I'm not dumb.

He's a vampire.

[In Glass City. Reception from 'the other side' is terrible, but he's able to interpret the situation: BAD. Ed's well being is in the human hands of one who is probably very inexperienced on vampiric matters.

Yeah. And he's also fully aware I can set him on fire before he can get to me. [This last bit is said a bit loudly, Charlie turning to face the big white van as she speaks. Something from Ed causes her to frown, roll her eyes slightly. She faces Sam again, her voice at a normal volume.]

I know he's dangerous. And I know I need to be careful and I will be. You have my guarantee, Sam. But at the moment, he's just as screwed as we are. I don't really know what else to do.

[Sam takes that in for a moment. He doesn't like it.]

Well. Okay. But mind if I come join you? I can't find Dean and I figure whatever's going on, we're better off teaming up.

[Terribly inexperienced. Save for the three instances where Ed tried to eat her and she almost set him on fire for it. Pyrokinesis is a handy trick. She manages to send back the following, not quite taking a page from Valentine's book as she does so;]

[Shit. Charlie tries again, slowly and carefully. Enunciating everything. She even sends it in a text.]

[Ed doesn't want to be up. He shouldn't be, but he didn't trust that the rescue attempt was sound, and now she's scampering around and there's no dirt to burrow into, and sleep, as tempting as it is, is functionally impossible.

[Ed. Don't be such a boob. And don't dare question why Charlie rescued you. She doesn't get it, either. She listened to him whine for a moment, eyebrows furrowing in frustration.]

Fine? You thought you were fine? [She scoffs and points out the window a moment.] That's where I found you. There's almost nothing left of where you were. Just wide open space for the sun to get you. Try telling me you were fine again.

[IF HE LOOKS OUT THE WINDOW IT BURNS, MCGEE. Really, now. Are you TRYING to kill him?]

I had a blanket. I would've been fine.

[She salvaged a bottle of blood for him after getting him in the van and is searching through her backpack for it, holding it out to him. She's seen that look on his face a few times already to know what it means.] No. You wouldn't have. What if the blanket turned to sand?

[Don't mind her settling herself across from you, Ed. It's cooler in the van and she's already a bit on the sunburnt side. The van doors get slammed shut behind her.]

Apparently, you're fine to eat anything, provided it bleeds. I'll find you something else when it cools down a bit. It's too hot out there, even for me.

Where are you? Are you in the sand city somewhere?

Then at least you wouldn't be hovering?

[He shoots her a moody look but accepts the bottle anyway, popping it open and taking a few gulps, continuing to give her the look over the top of it. This situation is still not something he's pleased about, he doesn't care if you're at least feeding him for now.]

I can hunt, you know. I'm homeless, not incompetent.

[And the better eye he can keep on this vampire guy.]

I'm not sure where I am...I was trying to find the tea shop, but it's hard to figure out where anything is, what with the sand...

We're all homeless, Ed. We're all stuck in the same fucked up situation and knowing this place, the sand is the least of our trouble. There are probably creatures out there that are worse than you. At least with me, you have a place to hide from the sun. I don't think there's much left out there for you.

[She does have a point you know, Ed.]

Stay somewhere shaded. I'll find you. [And she speaks off camera for a moment.] Ed. We're picking up a few friends of mine. Be nice. Okay?

[There's brief arguing between the two, most of which Charlie makes inaudible by covering the device. There are Words in her and Ed's vocabulary she doesn't want Rapunzel to hear. Charlie then starts the van, it's loud, sounds like it's on it's last legs but it works.]
