Which isn't even entering into the rest of it. At this point, honestly? It seems the best we can do is stay attentive and be careful.

Disruptions in timing - the City's always operated on its "curses" primarily being twenty-four hour events, spaced out. For some reason, last month, they started coming in pairs. That alone isn't entirely unheard of, but every curse happening like that is.
