[As early evening stretches shadows and forces the temperature down from Unpleasantly Hot to Basically Tolerable, Penny finishes scraping the last traces of graffiti from the Welcome Center's facade. She picks up a small stack of posters and addresses the network.]

Okay. I'm all for getting involved in what's going on in the community and freedom's a great thing, but it's been a week and I'm still picking these [a demonstrative wave of the posters] up. The graffiti's not too bad. The flyers, though? I don't know where anything in the City comes from or if we need to worry about conserving natural resources, but in most places, all of this anti-deity Cityzen stuff would be putting a dent in the tree population.

I'm not saying that stirring up some rebellion is bad. I just don't think we need to go around wallpapering the City with posters when we can talk about it. Save some trees--or whatever it is paper gets made out of here.

Oh! And sorry, but I'm not interested in any uprisings right now. Just trees. The curses've been weird enough this month without annoying the deities, right?

Um... I think so. [ He knows so. ] I mean, it was melting. So I can't be sure it's the same one. But it looked like that cat. It was out doing those things cats do. You know... [ Sleeping. Pooping. Licking itself. Spying on people. Ad nauseum. ]

Good--that's good. Someone must've let him out of the freezer. [For her own peace of mind, Penny will assume that Li has indeed seen the cat. She doesn't want cat-puddles on her conscience.]

Are you doing okay? Melting cats aside?

[ If it's any consolation, neither does he. (..........Of course whether or not he has a conscience is debatable.) ]

Oh! I'm all right. [ Considerably better, in fact, now that Yin's back. ] Nothing melting recently. Other than the usual stuff. [ u r p ] I-Imeantheusualfoodstuff.

I figured that's what you meant. [Seriously, what else would be melting? Li's awkwardness is so cute.] Hey, try to relax sometimes, okay? It always seems like you're working, and between that and worrying about the deities being evil kidnappers...

Oh, I try to take breaks whenever possible. [ A sheepish smile, ] Once I'm in the zone, I actually find cooking extremely relaxing. I'm sort of lucky to do it for a living. [ The only bit of truth in this entire conversation. Well. Half-truth. 'Cooking' is hardly what he does for a living. ]
