It would appear that time is a more delicate entity than belief would have it.

[ Her voice is curious, if cautious. The sounds you would hear for someone being outside are audible - sounds of the forest, to be specific. Helen isn't quite certain as to how she arrived here - could Adam's portal's stretch so far? She didn't know, and she wasn't prepared to pose the question with more unknowns than that around ]

We're often told to be careful with it, for it may simply just pass. [ And doesn't she know it ] But what about when it stops?

[ Helen's speaking more to simple fill the gap until she's certain she's ready to ask something - and she knows what to ask, although she's hoping to see something other than this forest first (or that may become the question) ]

Or paused. Doing that may sound difficult in of itself but how would you restart it? One would hope so, lest everything cease. [ And she's seen that before, and it didn't go with time stopping.

But there. There it is. The edge of the forest and... something else indeed ]

Thankfully in this case it would seem that all is well, or at least that time is moving. [ All is not well when you're not where you should be ] But when? I'll forgo the where, [ For now. If you hadn't learned that she was new by her unfamiliar voice than this was your cue ] and settle for when. What year is this? [ It's important when you've extensively travelled ]

[ He hasn't checked the network at all today. Nobody's cursed and he's got a ton of things to do. So he's tramping through the woods, pushing back branches, his backpack slung over his shoulder. Derek's probably out scaring woodland creatures so he's not going to spend too much time in the shack - in and out long enough to leave groceries and then he'll go back to the Mansion.

So when he runs into the clearing where Helen is he sort of half freezes. It's ingrained in him, see someone in the forest, panic. But logic dictates she's new and he'd rather it was him and not the resident werewolf scaring her off. ] Uh, hey. You okay?

[ Finding someone else out there, although a possibility, hadn't been something that Helen had expected. Not so soon, at least. The network device had been put into her pocket once she'd finished speaking to allow her to pay more attention as she examined her surroundings, and stepped through them (she was already a bit of a bloody state, she didn't need to add more to it).

The rustling of the leaves, and the crack of a branch, around her was something that Helen had heard, although person or animal she hadn't been able to know - seeing where she was wasn't her only concern.

Though the sight, and then the voice of the young boy? It was neither of the options she expected ]

That would depend entirely on the definition. [ It's a little bit of a reflex, but it gives her time to think, to assess. For once she's not really okay. Beaten and bruised aside she's a little confused, and it shows. The sudden change of her surroundings is a mystery, as to the lack of one Adam Worth that should have been with her that's another thing entirely ]

[ Now he's a little closer he can see the blood and the bruises, winces in sympathy a little and then thinks how awful it would be if Derek just suddenly appeared as though summoned by the scent of blood in His forest.

But he pushes all that aside, drops his backpack in the undergrowth. ] Well, my definition's usually whacked so. Um. Do you need a doctor or something?

Time is more relevant for some than for others. I know one who is outside of all time.

What year? Who knows? When we are all from different worlds, the City's metric is all we have. I believe it is May 10 by their calendar.
