[The strangeness of the day is far from lost on Saya, though fading nicely into the background. She has other matters to think on: bonds and blood, choice and fate. Sacrifice.]

[But it's a day she intends to enjoy nevertheless, ideally with those she has come to care for. She may not have many more like it.]

[Oddly pensive for a day of kissing, she can be found roaming aimlessly, lingering at the fountain or in front of store windows with fingertips brushing the cool glass, thoughts drifting.]

[Uhura comes out of a little boutique shop, carrying a little bag of presents for friends. She smiles and waves when she sees Saya.]

[Her smile is dimmer than normal, but no less genuine.] Hi. You look like you've been busy.

Christmas isn't really a holiday I'm familiar with, but I like any excuse to give gifts to people.

[She has a gift for Saya in her bag, actually, and debates handing it to her now. But she hasn't wrapped it or written any kind of card, so she holds back.]

That's nice of you. I'm learning a little about it too, although I get the feeling this isn't my first time celebrating it, somehow. [Like most of her strange not!memories, she can't really explain why she thinks so.]

I'm fine. I think my words are getting much better! [Still the simpler vocabulary of a pre-teen most times... except when she's upset or angry.]

[She grins, slightly flushed with pleasure at the compliment.] Thanks. I just had to remember how to talk, I think. But my French and Russian still aren't very good.
