[And as stated, Charlie's at home. She has no plans to leave at all and while she's not exactly a fan of people coming to visit at the moment, she's also not opposed to the idea either. Yes, it's sort of a contradiction, but this is Charlie we're talking about. She probably won't even be leaving the property until Thursday, either. Feel free to stop by, though. She'll be nice.]

[ Howard, who's not been out as much as he should for a while, decides to take a day away from City Solutions and thinks it's about time he stopped by. He might not have been in touch all that much, but he's been keeping tabs, watching the network and occasionally asking around, so getting her new address doesn't take much effort.

He's knocking at her door, Chinese take-out in one hand and beer under the other, and selfishly hoping it's just going to be Charlie who's in. ]

[It's just Charlie for now. She's sure Merlin will be around soon. But she's still happy to see Howard, grinning when she opens the door.]

[Sonic's running around the front hall, chasing Petrichor and Phantom is in the cat tower, just watching. Hypnos is probably hiding in Charlie's room.]

Are you okay from being stuck to Pepper?

[ The commotion behind her is hard to miss, and his gaze switches between her and them, and his expression turns a little bit sheepish. ]

Brought a peace offering. That's the done thing, ain't it?

[ He easily does a few circular motions with his shoulder, the weight of a head and the open wound after very much gone. ]

Everything's in working order, but I gotta admit she was starting to grow on me.

[The animals have settled and are now watching Howard with much interest. Or probably his food. It's hard to tell.]

[She smiles, nodding slightly.] At least it was Pepper. She's pretty amazing.

[ He gets the door properly closed behind him once inside, not wanting anything to escape, and follows her through. ]

She ain't a bad dame, not sure Tony'd be happy about it, but I've not seen him since.

Thank you. It was Merlin and Arthur's first. And then my roommate left and they let me move in.

[Charlie and Merlin do what they can to keep it pretty. Arthur helps, sometimes. And the kitchen is definitely Charlie's territory. All her favorite pots and pans on the stove, all her cookbooks on a shelf nearby.]

How are things at City Solutions?

[ He makes a humming noise to show that he's listening; he remembers the roommate leaving, Merlin taking an interest. He's glad she's got people.

He takes everything in, realising this is a home and not just a place to stay until it's time to leave like his own apartment. ]

Hmm? Oh, good, yeah, keeping everyone busy. Not been quite the same since Tony left, but it'll get there again now he's back.

[This dumb City is the only chance she has to actually make somewhere a home.]

I have yet to actually reintroduce myself to the returned Tony. We spoke briefly when household items were suddenly alive.

That was something, huh? 'Course, I would've liked to learn the secret, been trying to get a couple'a things on the move for months and they ain't budging.

[ He opens a cupboard, and then another, helping himself to plates, grabbing a couple out. ]

Only really spoke to him when he first got here, been, uh, avoiding him.

[Charlie's getting the condiments down. Sriracha hot sauce is probably the best stuff on earth. She puts it on almost everything lately.]

Why?

[Avoiding Tony? She's not aware of the fact that Tony is Howards so she's a bit concerned. If she knew, she'd have understood then.]

[ He gives the sauce a curious look as he serves out the food, and don't mind him while he pokes around for something to help him do it. ]

Personality clash. Took a long while to get 'round it the first time, but I'll pay him a visit eventually. Think he's still bitter about his past that I ain't quite got to yet.

[ He doesn't usually think to tell people unless they ask, assuming they know, which is stupid on his part. ]

So he's part of your future. [Oh. Oh, hey. Now she gets it and one eyebrow raises slightly. They look enough alike where, if this is accurate, she feels dumb for not noticing it first. So, she asks quite tentatively.]

[ She really shouldn't feel dumb about it, not after how long it took him to realise himself, people whispering behind his back for months before it came to light, even if a part of him probably knew and just chose not to. ]

He sure is, doll. I got myself a son at some point. Not bad, huh? Never did learn much about his mother, might even know her already for all I know, but he did the disappearing act before I got chance to ask.
