Here we go again.
[Because Charlie's developed a habit of not showing her face when she's stressed and this kind of weekend is stressful, Charlie's using audio today and she could filter it but that requires effort and she'd just flat out rather not expend more than she has to. This is really just the long way of saying 'charlie hates these weekends so much.']
Hey, Toph? If I said this weekend would be better spent Bending in the park instead of being at work, what would you say?
[There's a bit of silence, a muttered 'jesus' and the audio shuts off.]
[Charlie will later be found in the park, well away from the crowd. She's people watching. She has Phantom and Petrichor with her and they're chasing the occasional miniature ball of fire that she throws with a quick flick of her wrist. It's harmless, she's controlling everything it does, not letting it near anyone or anything and it vanishes within seconds but the animals seem to love it.
And she's dressed for firebending practice. Figure fitting, maroon colored tank top and shorts. Her sandals are off and tucked under the bench and her backpack has several bottles of water stuffed inside.
She really was serious about skiving off work to let off some steam.
After bending practice, Charlie will be found at home on the roof, tending to the garden and trying so very hard to just ignore everything.]
[ooc: have at her, folks.]

That's a lot fucking cooler than a lighter.
action;
Thanks. You new here?
[Just to make sure she's right about this not being Pavel.]
action;
action;
[And she's...pretty sure she knows who you are since a curse gave her a few of Ed's memories. But she's not one hundred percent on that.]
action;
action;
That's what I thought. Not that we've ever met. I know a formerly living friend of yours. Well, knew. [A pause, a faint smirk.] Evil Ed? Ring a bell?
action;
Ed Lee? You know Evil?
[But she's not a vampire and she's not trying to kill him, so maybe that's not that bad.]
action;
[How's that for a bombshell, Charley?]
action;
Charlie gets a moment of amazed fish-face while this processes.]
Holy shit.
[Words, where are they--]
And he was a vampire, and he didn't kill you.
action;
action;
[Actually, now it's less weird. That's kind of how his parents worked, except without the vampireness and the fire.]
Is he still around here? 'Cause fire alone won't kill vampires. You've gotta be careful.
action;
He's around. So is a guy named Peter Vincent. [A pause, a faint nose wrinkle.] I don't like him all that much. I mean, he's okay, but he spends so much time drunk, it's disconcerting.
And I'm not worried about Ed. The guy went on a rampage when I was attacked a while back. I don't think he'd hurt me.
action;
Peter, too? [He... actually smiles, which is not a normal reaction to hearing about Vincent's existence.] That's something. He's not as bad as--no, he's terrible, but he's got all this knowledge and he's only, like, half as helpless as he acts like he is.
[And back to Ed.] Did he kill anyone? Ed?
action;
No. I think you'd have been....impressed. He could have. He had a ton of opportunities to do so. But he didn't.
action;
[Now there's guilt. Charley's going to feel like an even bigger douchebag than he already does if vampire!Ed was an okay person and didn't need to be put down.] He didn't...?
action;
[She gives Charley a small shrug.] No. He hurt someone...Peter...because Peter blamed Ed for something that happened to me but it wasn't Ed. But he didn't kill anyone, the entire time he was here.
action;
[Charley can't exactly hold hurting Peter against Ed, considering both the situation and Peter's ability to piss people off.] Guess I owe Ed an apology if I see him around.
action;
action;
[He runs a hand through his hair, clearly not all that wild about confronting a vampire after he's all pissed off because he talked to his ex.]
Sorry, doesn't matter. It's cool of you to care.
Re: action;
And even then, that depends on how time has passed for him since he left. [A sigh, a nervous running of fingers through her hair.] This place kinda enjoys fucking with time. You're here. You could be here for ages. Not a bit of time has passed where you were from.
action;
[That wasn't directed at you, McGee. It just sums up the whole situation so nicely.]
If home wasn't as weird as it is, I'd think you're high. No offense.
