SIXTH SUN -- despair all around; accidental video
[There is a rainstorm on the edge of the Temple, hissing into steam as it meets an orange slab of metal. Utsuho's device is tilted, as if it has been dropped, and it hovers in her blind spot and records as a storm pours down around her. It's a small and localized thing, but nonetheless she would be drenched except that she keeps vaporizing the rain. Ikari, her little black-and-fiery Asian dragon, is angrily curled up under one of her wings and grumbling about the rain in snarling noises. Utsuho seems to be talking to the little dragon despite its inability to reply, and though Ikari is peeved about the whole ordeal, she sympathizes enough to duck her head under Utsuho's open left hand.]
The City is really quiet, and cold, and lonely, and I don't like it. I miss my old job. I miss Orin and Miss Satori. I don't like the rain, and I don't like being lost, and...
I don't know what to do. And it won't stop raining, even when I'm inside the Temple, so I figured I"d leave before everything got really wet. Not that it isn't. I can't keep this up forever...
I want to go home.
[She ducks her head and folds her wings around herself and sniffles.]
[ooc: Open to action if anyone wants to drop in on her and her miserable Grab Bag curse rainstorm.]

foolsoul in the rain. And that's what he decides to do, with an umbrella tucked under his arm, just in case. (Well, tucked under his arm now. It was trickier to transport it when he was flying around in his crow shape, but that's another matter entirely.)And so, having followed the sound of the localized and hissing rain, he approaches, quietly, with a sympathetic and curious look on his face, as though it were purely by chance that he happened to pass by. And, oh, how could one not notice someone in such a plight as hers?
That's the general idea for this little show, at least.
(In point of fact, the little detail of the vaporizing rain is what's really gotten his attention. That's how it goes.)]
Aww, honey. You okay? What's the matter?
[action;]
This place sucks and I want to go home. No one here knows anything about Gensokyo or the way anything normally works. There aren't any youkai here, just a bunch of humans, and it's cold. The temple doesn't feel like anyone is here, just me. Normally there's a god or something. Miss Satori and Orin are back home and have no idea where I am and I don't know where they are and this place has all these gadgets that don't make any sense and--
[Only now does she realize she's ranting at someone as opposed to the air, and she lowers a wing enough to see over it. The red light from the third eye on her chest glows against her feathers.]
Oh. Hey. Who're you?
[action;]
Just a guy. You know, from that "bunch of humans."
[Except he's not really human, but, hey...]
I saw your thing, your video on the Network. And I was passing by and I thought I'd come check on you and make sure you were okay.
I know, it's kind of weird. You're a total stranger, I'm a total stranger. But, I dunno. It just seemed like the right thing to do.
[The right thing to do, but mostly because kiddo here, sitting under the raincloud, is pretty obviously also not human. And that's always good.]
So...you okay?
Re: [action;]
[She looks confused until Ikari noses the device, at which point she glances at it, makes a small sound, and shuts it off.]
Uh, I didn't mean to do that. Anyway. Eh. Right, bunch of humans, well, you guys aren't bad or anything, you're just...well, not what I'm used to. You're nice, though, I guess -- better than sitting in the rain.
[She takes a second to rub at her eyes, then sighs.]
I...guess I just miss being home. This place is weird and doesn't make any sense. Chekhov told me how to make my communicator thing talk instead of write, but either way, I just don't have any idea what's going on. Nothing here makes sense. The gods do random things that nobody understands, and they don't seem to work the way our gods do, and there's no magic that makes sense, and I haven't seen a single real youkai since I showed up, just...humans and I guess there's that vampire, that's a little closer to home.
I don't know what to do here. People keep telling me I can't go home, so what if I just wander around here until I'm dead? That'll be a long time. I don't have a job, I don't have a master, I don't have anything I'm used to, and none of this makes any sense.
[action;]
[He follows along, nodding sympathetically...]
Sounds like you're just a fish out of water, if you'll excuse the expression. I don't know, honey. Maybe you need to try and reinvent things. This place isn't like where I'm from either. But you've got to hang on and carry on and make the best of it.
[A smile~ He's much more inclined to smiling than anything else~]
That's what I've been trying to do.
Re: [action;]
Yeah. I should probably just do that.
Reinvent things...like what? Mostly I'm good at making suns and lighting things on fire. I did try to take over the world that one time. I guess that could be fun, since Reimu isn't here to dodge everything and then hit me with that stick.
[action;]
Lighting things on fire is kind of cool. I can't do that.
[Yes, he can, actually, but...]
And trying to take over the world is pretty impressive, I won't lie. I couldn't do that.
[Yes, he could--and he did try it himself...a couple of times...]
See--you've got stuff you can do, but you just have to think about it all in different ways than the ways you've been thinking. It's a matter of perspective.
Re: [action;]
[She folds her wings back now; the rain has gone from a downpour to a drizzle. Clearly some kind of curse, with how localized it is.]
Different ways...so I'm stuck here, but the place seems pretty non-magical. What can I do with magic...well, besides vaporize things?
Normally I have a job and people tell me what to do. So...are you saying I need to not think like that? Like, go do my own thing?
[action;]
Yeah! If nobody's telling you what to do, you can do what you want, right? I mean, nobody's ordering you around right now so what do you normally do when nobody's ordering you around?
[A conspiratorial whisper]
And, by the way, just between you and me, this place is kinda magic, but it's under the surface. I can only tell you on account of working in a joke shop where all the jokes are made out of magic. And I'm not kidding either.
Re: [action;]
What do I normally do?
[Her eyes widen, gaining a bit of their old shine back.]
Last time I did anything I wanted, I tried to expand Hell.
Hey.
Hey!
There's no Hell here! I can make one! And then if anyone tries to stop me, Reimu's not here, so I can just kick all their asses and then we're done!
[Her voice goes from dismal to ecstatic in just a few sentences, and now she's on her feet, wings half-extended, waving the cannon around. The rainclouds fade out quickly, changing to a sort of electric, energetic atmosphere that makes both their hair stand on end.]
[action;]
See? Now you're gettin' it!
Re: [action;]
Okay!
Now I need to find a good place, and set up some spell cards, and I don't know how we'd get souls, maybe it's not the same here where people don't die, and I should find someone to collect fuel, and...
[She fiddles with her device the whole time, so that it records her list. All the icons and other functions in the device are pictures or voice, no text at all, so it's not so hard to guess why she's not typing.]
Who knows fire magic around here and could help? You said you didn't, but if you worked in the magic shop, maybe you know other people?
[action;]
[And by "somebody" he means himself after he's shapeshifted his face. Because that's how he rolls.]
[action;]
[Yep, anything he's planning or insinuating is so far over her head that it's probably in space. She has zero distrust for him at all. Like a "guard dog" who you can get past just by being nice and not poking it with a stick and soon it's eating out of your hand.]
[action;]
[It's so lovely... Such a sweet little guard dog. Yes it is~ Yes it is~ Who's a good guard dog? Yes you are~]
Re: [action;]
[She shakes out her wings and steps back.]
I'm going to take off for a while, now that the rain is gone. Thanks for coming by -- you're a pretty neat person. I live here, if you want to drop by sometime. Just leave me a message on the Network.

See you later!

Er.
I mean, I've had one job. Ever. I want to just go back and do that. But, uh...I don't think this place has a hell.
Guess I could figure out how to make one...
video;
If there is one thing that the City does not need, it's a hell. Surely there are other things you can do?
Re: video;
Uh. The mountain god was saying something about a power plant...? But I have no idea how to make one. I do have fusion though.
video;
Mountain god? Power plant? The City is powered by something, but I'm not familiar with such antiquated operations as the ones here to help you. The City may not have the facilities necessary to make use of fusion.
Re: video; hurrr I forgot this thread still had unreplied comments
Who would I ask to see if the City can use fusion?
video; fff, completely okay!
That isn't something I can answer. Someone at City Solutions may know, but who, I have no idea.

Sulking about it ain't gonna send you home any faster. You just gotta find your niche.
Re: video;
I'm not sulking!
...Niche? What's that?
[Not so smart, she is.]

Re: video;

And you miss that?

I wasn't sent to Hell; I live there. I'm immune to hellfire. It feels really nice and warm, and I have a nest there and everything.

Utsuho ?
Are you ok ?
voice; that's okay I'm late to everything XD
Oh. Hey. You're...that Jack guy.
Uh. Not really. I'm kind of lost. I want something to do. I don't know anyone. I'm bored and kind of freaked out. I don't even have a flock or a master or anything...I'm stuck.
