Avis [Video]

I've found...an egg. It was nestled in my hamper and, well, it looks quite strange. I can't easily identify it as a bird egg - the shell seems too thick - but I can't rule out that possibility either. Then again, what is a bird doing laying an egg in my hamper?

[This has to be the work of the Deities.]

I don't have the heart to get rid of it and I'm certainly not going to eat it. [Hamper eggs could do all sorts of things to you! ...maybe.]

Has anyone else come across an egg?

[Added after she views the network:] I see that my egg isn't the only one. Now I'm not sure what to do with it.

[Narrowing her eyes, she holds up her egg and examines it closely.]

I have. [Charlie turns her video to a smoke colored egg. It's about the size of a football.] It showed up in my shower.

Raise it! Build a nest, make sure to keep it warm, turn it twice a day, and then make sure when it hatches that it has plenty of room to get out of the shell.

Then...well, I know more about hatching eggs than raising chicks...

I have an egg, too. It looks large -- maybe it's a youkai? -- but yours is smaller.

As for what birds would lay eggs in hampers, I don't know what a hamper is, but different birds lay in different places. For example, hell ravens like me would prefer rock outcroppings in caves.

If I learned anything from Hagrid, it's to keep an eye on mysterious eggs. Or, you know, raise whatever's in them and call it affection when it tries to eat us.

[It's a joke but it's a terrible one. Of course.]

Maybe they're Skrewts.

Probably. Mine already has a couple cracks in it that I hope aren't from something I did.

Youkai. Uh. What is it? That's...really weird to explain, because they're just everywhere where I come from.

.......Um.

I guess we're sort of magical beings, and we usually come from animals or objects that get old enough and magical enough. A hell raven is an animal that lives in Hell. I'm just an old and strong one, so I became a youkai. That means I can think and talk like one of you.
