I seem to have met some acquaintance with one of those curses everyone was talking about. This is distressing. I was going to see if I could find out a little bit more about that clock today — I hear it all the time, always ticking — but I don't think that will be happening after all.
Unless it's an emergency, I will not be out today. If it is an emergency, then... [Deep sigh.] I'll think of something.
