[Sinclair's been in the city a fair few days now, and has managed to settle into a fairly cheap looking apartment with what assets he had on him when he arrived. He seems fairly unfazed about being suddenly brought to a strange city; he's still treating it as rather novel, really. Besides, he's sure there are plenty of opportunities here, and is determined to get as much out of his change of circumstances as he can.

He sits on a chair in his apartment as he looks into the camera, puffing on a pipe and looking very relaxed and in control.]

Well, now. I must say, the sky is a sight for sore eyes. I'm not really one for sentiment, but when you've been fathoms deep for as long as I have? A little thing like the sky comes as a welcome relief. But teleportation, hm? We didn't even have that down in Rapture; I'm sure there'd have been a pretty profit to be made there. Already this town is full of surprises. I admit, I'm curious to find out more about it.

But where are my manners? The name's Augustus Sinclair. Esquire. And from what I've seen, this city's set up pretty nicely. Of course, there's always room for one more enterprising businessman, hm? I'd be interested to know of any gap in the market that hasn't been covered.

I should, perhaps, be perturbed at your arrival, but I can't say I'm surprised. I'd welcome you to the City, but we both know I'd be lying through my teeth.

Stuck here? After twenty-two years at the bottom of the ocean, this place doesn't feel like a prison at all.

Twenty-two years? That sounds like a long time, even to me.

[Of course he's well aware of the conversation they'd had when Sinclair had visited the City a few weeks before, but he's not sure if Sinclair remembers, and perhaps it's better to play it safe for now.]

And here you were planning to live your whole life down there. I'd have thought twenty-two years would have flown by.

I believe I did live my whole life down there, as a matter of fact. I can't say it was twenty-two years, but then, you're well aware of that.

Ah, then you're already aware of your unfortunate demise. That makes things a little simpler. My condolences, chief.

I'm sure you can understand why I'd be reluctant to dwell on the matter, so let me ask you a question instead: What do you intend to do here?

[He means financially, of course. He doesn't care about much else.]

Certainly, and it seems in poor taste for me to dwell on it, too.

[He puffs on his pipe as he considers.]

That all depends on what this place has to offer, and what needs it needs an entrepreneur like myself to fill.

You have an admirable habit of always landing on your feet, despite the situation.

[Please note that 'admirable' here means 'irritating,' as is evident from the tone of his voice.]

Well, even if you didn't find them admirable, that never stopped you from making use of them.

Entertainment, hm? Possibly the one area that I don't have much expertise in. Still, I'm sure this old dog's still got a new trick or two in him, and I can't say the prospect of being surrounded by showgirls is a poor one.
