This weekend has been fascinating, to say the least. While I'm well aware that most -- perhaps all -- of our current visitors will be returning to their respective worlds soon, I can't help but question the purpose of such an event.

[There's a pause.]

Why is it necessary to bring "guests" here, then immediately get rid of them? Is it simply an attempt at irritation? The potential opportunity for people who have missed each other to see each other once again, only to be parted? I'm well aware that the "deities" often have ill-conceived plans, but this particular turn of events strikes me as inherently pointless.

You've got something against the generous, do you?

In that I believe altruism, and therefore generosity, is inherently false, yes.

Why is that? The idea that charity is driven by greed?

[rianofski]

Something like that. The majority of people who claim they're being "altruistic" are simply doing something for their own interests. Charity is generally driven by people seeking recognition for how "good" they are -- which is ridiculous, as "good" and "bad" are entirely subjective.

You don't think anyone might just want to keep someone from starving, or offer them shelter? A real God serving man.

I've never seen any evidence of anyone doing something like that, no.
