This weekend has been fascinating, to say the least. While I'm well aware that most -- perhaps all -- of our current visitors will be returning to their respective worlds soon, I can't help but question the purpose of such an event.

[There's a pause.]

Why is it necessary to bring "guests" here, then immediately get rid of them? Is it simply an attempt at irritation? The potential opportunity for people who have missed each other to see each other once again, only to be parted? I'm well aware that the "deities" often have ill-conceived plans, but this particular turn of events strikes me as inherently pointless.

Regardless, those of us stuck here will ultimately be more bothered than those of you who return home, never to remember this place.

Some would argue that being self-centered was inherently immoral. I was simply hoping you weren't one of them.

Assuming what they tell you is right. For all you know we're plagued with bad dreams and misplaced longing for something beyond the veil of reality.

I'm not here to argue morality.

Perhaps you are. It's really not my concern, since I'll never see the majority of you again.

I wasn't aware that people visited multiple times. How unfortunate.

I think I'd rather come and go than sit around here and complain.

I suppose that depends on whether you get to go back to somewhere better than this.

I've heard some people like it better here.

Some do. Their worlds hold no promise for them.

How do you feel about it?

I feel that it would be wise to make the best of the time I have here, but ultimately, I have business to attend to back home.

What does making the most of it entail?

Working, primarily. It would be far too easy to let oneself slip into complacence and do very little.

Just how would you like me to go about doing that?

What have you accomplished, spinning in circles here?

[rianofski]

I've accomplished quite a bit of research on scientific matters, specifically engineering, which I had, thus far, not had the time for at home. I consider that to be a good use of my time.

Too bad you can't take it with you.

[rianofski]

That doesn't mean I should sit idly by and waste my time here, either.
