[ He doesn't take very long, and soon enough he's strolling up to the fountain, leather jacket and a bag thrown over his shoulder. He didn't really arrive with much.

Just Severide's good, really. [ Well. He likes a girl who teases? ] I've only heard about the monsters in the underground.

[There is a mischievous god of chaos around that likes fire that nearly set the place ablaze not long ago.

And her teasing isn't always so easy to tell.]

Just that there's monsters, not what kind.

You'll find plenty of them here depending on your definition. [And she's going to be watching him for the reaction to this part in particular.] Vampires, werewolves, zombies and others. Then there are those creatures that even they consider monsters.

[ First someone tells him about monsters, then someone tells him about walking corpses, now this. Either everyone here is psychotic or it's one giant prank. ]

[Considering he's talking to a vampire hybrid, she's quite serious. Hell, she was surprised by some of the things in this place.]

I know it's hard to believe, but this place is like a giant sci-fi mashup. People are here from different worlds and different times. But come on, we'll head down and you'll see.

[Just going to be heading to the nearest entrance to the Underground now.]

[ Mulling that over in his mind. He's got nothing against strong women and he's pretty secure in his masculinity, thank you very much.

Besides, he's not entirely convinced that there's really monsters. Willing to be proven wrong on that count, though, and it'd be good not to die if it's really true. ] Right on. Big guys, then.

[No offense but he is only human and that bit she didn't actually tell him about gives her an even bigger edge over the monsters than her vampire side. Plus she has a pair of blades on her if needed.]

[And she'll lead him past all the usual haunts in the Underground to head down one of the farther tunnels instead.]

[ For what it's worth: he's got a service knife on him as well, and there's a bit more equipment in his bag that could be used as a weapon if need be. He usually uses it to rescue rather than to harm, though. ]

[Hers are a little more used to be put to work on an offensive front and she has a few tricks up her sleeves if needed.]

Just remember you said that if anything goes wrong.

[Going down one tunnel and then another until they get to a clearing of sorts. Up ahead there's a small gather of bright light inside of which can be seen wolves made of fire.]

[ He's rescue squad; it would defeat the purpose if he used the equipment to harm anyone. ]

Sure. Just remember you said you'd protect my sorry ass. [ There may be laughter in his tone, but it grows quiet when he sees the wolves.

Right. So maybe monsters are real. ]

[She's a part time assassin/body guard, her weapons shouldn't be used for anything else.]

[It's a whisper since there's no telling how well the animals can hear. Thankfully they seem to be down wind so their scent shouldn't reach the wolves though.]
