[ 002 ] ★ [ Video ]

[ The video feed starts and catches a few moments of an extremely messy apartment with sand scattered over everything, and then it turns around to focus on the man holding the device, sprawled out along a wide window sill where he watches the candy hearts falling from the sky. There is a bowl beside him full of them, which he keeps dipping into, and speaks around. ]

This the sort'a stuff everyone was warning me 'bout, huh? Been here two weeks and I got sand coming outta everywhere, candy falling outta the sky, and I gotta say there's something ain't right 'bout them either.

[ He stops long enough to chomp down another one. ]

Think I might'a got something'a Lena's and that Tony fella's. [ His expression doesn't give much away, but he does wash the candy down with a swallow of scotch straight from the bottle. ] Anybody know what the hell's going on? Insightful things.

Are you sure? Because I actually don't mind entirely.

[ He hesitates, this caring and sharing thing really isn't his area, but it's not as if he's got much else going on, and he likes Lena, empathises with her in a way that even he doesn't quite understand. ]

Think I got the time to spare. Y'wanna meet somewhere?

I was going to take a walk around [blah blah part of the City and directions if Howard needs it.] I'd say Xanadu but that's not as impressive with sand everywhere. See you in a bit?

I'hear on that, wouldn't be so bad if we got the ocean to go with it. [ He's already standing, moving around grabbing up his jacket. ] See you there.

[Charlie switches of the feed after a smile. She forgoes a jacket, not really needing it in the weather. It's a perk of her ability, honestly. She heads to where she told Howard she'd be, keeping her eyes open for him. She genuinely hated this City and the crap it pulled but she trusted Howard enough to tell him everything. Just so he didn't misjudge her.]

[ Howard is there moments later, sporting a pair of sunglasses he managed to have on him when he arrived and a new leather jacket. He's trying out a look with the modern fashion. ]

As much as I love technology, I gotta say y'look much better in the flesh.

[There's a grin. A blush and she ducks her head slightly.] Thank you, Howard. So do you.

[She picks her thumbnail a moment, trying to figure out where to start with things. Some people it's easy to tell this kind of thing to. Others? Not so much. And then;]

Would you believe me if I said I could start fires with a thought?

[ He knows how to take a compliment, standing a little straighter with lopsided smirk. ] Gotta agree with you on that. [ He loves making her blush, he's evil, winking with something less than innocent in his expression. ]

Sure. [ There's a pause, and then intrigue. ] Y'trying to tell me you can actually do that? [ It would explain fire in several confusing flashes. ] 'Cause I helped create Captain America, it ain't exactly a stretch.

I've been doing that since I was a couple weeks old. [Charlie offers, a very matter of fact statement.] It's really a lot more trouble than it's worth, sometimes.

[Her face lights up when Steve is mentioned, a brief flash of amusement in her eyes when Howard mentioned helping create who Steve was now.] Yeah? How so?

Bet y'never had trouble with lighting up the stove, though, huh? [ He needs to work on tact, he knows this.

Mocking someone who is remotely modest. ] It's no big deal, really, I just created and controlled the technology that made the guy huge. Y'seen the muscles on the fella?

Nope. No trouble at all. Half the time, I don't even use the stove.

Yeah. The other day when people weren't wearing all that much. [There is a blush, her eyes widen slightly in mild disbelief and she nods slightly.] It was definitely interesting.

Next time I ain't got it in me to cook up some dinner, don't mind if I drop by, d'you? Get me sorted. [ He's kidding. Maybe. It's hard to tell.

Laughing, eyebrows wiggling. ] Something ain't he? Wouldn't mind a piece'a that pie either.
