Hope everyone's taking good care of their hearts. And their friends' hearts.

[ pause ]

I know some people've had to go looking for them. If anyone needs help, I'd be happy to.

[ there is some faint mreowling in the background and then a purr and a laugh. ]

Apparently mine makes a good pillow. Or something.

[ 'or something' indeed, not in small part because it is not his alone, not really. details warrant confusion here to say the least but at this point it's always going to be a long story - longer than even Sora himself can consciously recall.

here at least it's been quiet - comparatively - since the zombie-like influx a while back, and although this particular curse makes him sad for different reasons - surface and subconscious alike - , it also makes him grateful. there's a breath like he's going to say something else and then just a click of the recording turning off instead. ]

[Wait! HEART? Their hearts? Is that what this thing is?]

[He holds up a large chocolate heart and points furiously at it. This is his heart?]

[ SOB SETSUNA LMSFUIJOWKLESD Sora squints, tilts his head and then beams...naturally. It took him a while, since the first entries were kind of scattered - some small enough to pinch between fingers and others dense and sizable, and some not remotely resembling 'heart' anyway. but he knows what his is and after running into a few others earlier in the day, he figures it has to be something like that.

it's close to that lovey dovey holiday isn't it? maybe it's something to do with that...

in any case he nods, and Setsuna may catch a gray and black striped cat tail flicking back once or twice in the background. ]

I think so! I mean.... well... they're all different but it seems like it.

Er...to be safe I wouldn't keep it anywhere too warm...

[ or hold it without an icepack or somethng for too long... ]

[Setsuna gives Sora a wide-eyed, slack-jawed horrified look, opens his mouth then points inside. He almost ate his heart!]

[Now he cuddles it close to him, looking panicked. He already died once this month! If he dies from something happening to it, his friends might kill him. Again. No, he needs to-]

[Get ice! Yes! He beams at Sora. He wants to tell him he's brilliant, but, yeah, can't.]

[He just puts the candy one down and makes heart shape with his fingers to show Sora he appreciates the idea. He's going to get ice right now.]

[ Sora thought at first, and still does for a few moments, that Setsuna is/was just so stunned as to be speechless, but the continued employment of gestures and expressions alone gives him pause. He smiles back of course, nodding vigorously and settling back a little only to get hit in the face with a lashing cat tail (must be dreaming...or just a cat...) which makes him sputter briefly.

Again Sora tilts his head but this time a little more exaggerated himself as he nods and gives Setsuna the thumbs up as if to say 'okay good' and peering at his heart again. Chocolate. That's...inconvenient. He wonders if Setsuna has any pets.

...

He sits up again, waiting for Setsuna to get back so he can point that out too -- just in case...and maybe ask about the no-speaking thing.

Granted, he's not really sure what happens precisely in this curse if a heart gets say, eaten, or stamped on or whatnot, but he imagines it's not good.

So far Kairi and Riku have just sort of clustered around it in a feline curl, and Sora doesn't think he's imagining the faintly tickled feeling - warm and protected. ]

[Oh, Sora plans to ask? This will be a...fun conversation, to say the least.]

[He returns, chocolate encased in ice, in a bag. Now it's totally safe, he thinks, as he shows Sora the bag.]

[ At the bag, Sora grins and again there's the cheesiest thumbs up you ever might imagine, though it's technically 'thumb' since his other hand is busy catering to one of the cats. Greedy beasts. Fff.

Sora then reaches out to pick up the device, adjusting it so it focuses on the cats curled up like interlocking quotation marks, a faint glow coming out from under them from the heart they're sleeping on. He stops petting the gray one to point at them instead before putting the device back the way it was. ]

Do you have any pets? You have to be careful of that too, even though the bag kinda helps already!

Chocolate's bad for dogs 'specially I think.

[ He pauses, brow pinching as he tries to remember if this info is right or not. ]

Oh yeah um...what happened to your voice?

[ It doesn't occur to Sora that this 'explanation' via charade will be quite a lot of work for poor Setsuna --- not yet at least. He does point at the device directly and then to his own throat before arching a brow to punctuate the question. ]

[Setsuna is just encouraged by the thumbs up, and gives on of his own. Then he smiles at the cats. Such domesticated ones compared to the ones at the zoo. They look content!]

[He also figures that other heart is likely Sora's. Wow.... It's a glowing pillow thing? Convenient! Sora must be a good, warm person.]

[Then the inevitable question comes and Setsuna just stares. He can't just show Sora a post of the deities since he's using his device for this conversation. He tries to do a weird back and forth motion from his mouth to away from it. Trade, like a trade.]

[ Sora's first guess isn't too horribly far off... ]

Someone took it....?

[ His sentence goes up a little at the end in pitch, the way a half-question tends to do as he squints, as if that will help him discern whether he's right or not. Hurriedly he adds, hands flailing in no particularly telling way, ]

Oh or um, if not...d'you have a piece of--oh wait a second!

sometimes i forget we can type on these too!

so what's up with your voice?

[Before the switch, Setsuna nodded his head - yes, someone took it. Kind of. At least Sora got that much.]

[Setsuna switches it back to video and shakes his head, sadly. He was very thorough in this one. No communication. None.]

[ Going with the flow, Sora does however wear a distinctly quizzical expression, taking in the shake of Setsuna's head as well as his sadness. ]

I'm sorry about your voice. [ He says not because he's not sorry about the rest but only because he's not entirely clear on what the rest is in plain terms. There's a pause here again, Sora's face going a little blank and then thoughtful again. ]

Do...do you know if you can get it back?

[ he phrases more carefully than normal, conscious of Setsuna being able to yes or no his response ]

[He is no good at this. Next time he wants to do this, Setsuna silently decides, he'll ask someone else to walk around with him and explain it to people.]

[Setsuna nods to the question, smiling now. Then he holds up two fingers!]

[ Sora pauses, mouthing two months or two weeks, then nodding. ]

Oh well that's good to know. I'm glad it's not forever.

That'd be tough.

[ understatement. sob.... ]

[Even if Setsuna could read lips, he's incapable of answering which. He does smile and nod to the rest, though. He made sure it wouldn't be forever. How would he get anything done if he couldn't speak?]

It's not a bad place to rest.

[pause] I could have told you that.

[ all with little catchy phrases saying things on them 8( and all of them being licked up by the cats... ]

[ anyway, on Sora's end he pauses too --- this in part due to the fact that rather than look at the network first, he glances around for the other boy...habit now, it seems. ]

Guess you could. [ it's said both affectionately and a little tentative, because this is one of those things Sora isn't sure he can apply the word 'comfortable' to...but maybe it's not supposed to be, even if it's natural to them. he adds, amidst the louder purring of both cats: ] Where're you right now?

[ Roxas might also hear a muffled 'ack, Kairiii...' ...someone got whapped with a tail. again. maybe he shouldn't rest quite so close to them. ]

[ Roxas doesn't talk too much about the time he spent sleeping within Sora's heart, mainly because it just feels weird after so much time spent with each other here in separate bodies, but it did happen. He remembers it well.

And there are definitely worse places to nap. ]

Just walking home. I thought I'd take the long way after running around with my last delivery. [ He got a little sweaty ]

[ Sora resumes petting both cats alternately, little thoughts knocking about in his spiky haired head, some of them questions and others just confusions - ambiguities. Beneath the sleeping felines it is only one 'thing' one heart but the brief time Sora himself held it - before the cats claimed it for their own - he'd felt such a strange conflict of senses -- of selves, in a sense - he'd spaced out completely. Flashes of familiarity and a reshaping of time as if glancing back at it over his shoulder like one massive backdrop.

Now all seems much calmer, quiet, and removed in a way that does not really help him order his curiosity.

It's easier to focus in on the conversation as is, even while other topics linger behind his teeth, waiting for the right words to give them fuller form. ]

What was it? I didn't have anything today.

[ Yesterday he visited one of the City's pet shops eight different times because the customer kept forgetting to add things to his list and couldn't find his device. Sora hadn't minded the first five times but by number eight he'd been ready to call it good and move onto the next errand. ]

Just some books. The old lady didn't want to carry them all home from the store herself, and then she wanted to show me here heart. It took a while to get out of there.

[ He hadn't really minded. He could see from looking at the heart that it was a good one.

Plus there were cookies. ]

It was fun, though.

What was it like? I saw a lot of them just on the network today. Lots of them didn't even look like hearts -- not ones I'd seen before anyway.

It was really pretty. Like blown glass, with these gold swirls. It sort of looked like a heart, but also like art.

[ You had to know it was coming....... ]

It sounds nice. Maybe I can meet her - take her next errand or something, or just go with you!

Yeah, something like that...and she'd probably be glad to see you. Sure. Come along.

[ pause ]

Nice of you to offer. [He is taking a break from chasing his heart.] What did yours turn into?

I hope anyone would. Oh...um... well just a kind of...heavy light. Kind of fuzzy? But it doesn't look fuzzy.

Too bad you couldn't see it clearly. I wonder what was making it light up like that?

[He shakes his head, smiling.] Mine looked like a bird or something. It definitely had wings.
