[For most of the post, this may as well be a still image, an off-center and ill-focused glimpse of someone's nightstand. On it, against a bright background-- the corner of a framed photograph, the detail of which is difficult to make out-- rests (unsurprisingly, today) a heart.
It's shaped like a standard human heart, a healthy colour with a glossy sheen to it; from the way it rests, still and uncompromising, it must be harder than it looks at first glance, as though it's coated in glass. Looking closely, the surface seems faintly crazed-- not quite cracked, but worn like old lacquer.
Winding down one side, beneath the hard surface, black marks like a tattoo are visible, though not wholly legible. Keen-eyed viewers might be able to make it out as Виктор, but not without squinting for quite some time.
But there's not much time to look. After a long moment, the blankets in the distant background stir, and a large hand covers the camera as Isaak reaches to check the time.]

[Now that he mentions it, Isaak has a point. Sometimes it's difficult to find things to do in the City without a familiar goal to work towards, but having a girlfriend, friends who aren't in the fleet, and educating children in the arts of math, science, and blanket fort building are all very pleasant.]
