[ All that can be seen as the feed begins is the raging winter sky—courtesy of today’s blizzard. Quite obviously the video option has been activated upon being dropped but any auditory indication of who the device belongs to will be overshadowed by the fierce wind howling in the background and the thickness of the snow it is lying in. However, after a moment or so of this the image flickers and is panned upwards as the communicator is lifted, albeit shakily, and a face comes into view, blurred and barely distinguishable behind the snow and moisture on the lens.

The face coughs, a trickle of blood running down from the corner of its mouth before a shaking, semi frozen hand reaches up to wipe it away. Then—whether it’s Katou’s choice or as accidental as the initial recording—the video feed is terminated. ]
