[The video shows a rotting more humanoid version of this creature walking. The angle of the video feed is high, from above. If anyone mistakes it for an accident, the voice that follows - obviously Setsuna's to those who know him - cold, concentrated and demanding, will reassure it is not.]

That one's mine. No one else touch it!

[Just before it shuts off, as the video feed catches random snatches of night, he speaks to the creature, unknowing he hasn't turned the device all the way off just yet.]

Stay right there, "God"!

[Action;]
[Six wings fully out, Setsuna's already covered in grime, as if he's been at this all day, to no avail. But this one.... He's now ignoring anything and everything else, mind completely focused on the ghoul he called God. He lands, already hacking away at it.]

[Action Afterwards;]
[It's a satisfying feel when his blade sinks in. This wouldn't be possible - not such a direct blow - back home, so he takes it here as his sword stabs through the heart. When the ghoul dies, Setsuna stops, his purpose gone. He might just start swinging again as there are still more to practice on. And since they don't die he can keep at it. Approach him with caution.]

[It had been easier to avoid Setsuna than she feared, thus far. Keep to the manor, avoid his workplaces, look both ways before turning a corner. It has helped that, she assumes, he's probably been avoiding her too. But no amount of guilt can compare with the icy dread she felt upon seeing this video, knowing Setsuna's in danger. And that maybe there's nothing she can do, nothing he'd want her help with, doesn't stop her from grabbing the nearest blade and rushing out the door.]

[She got held up by a few ghouls on her way (no one familiar, though she wonders if she'd even know them) and so by the time she comes skidding to a stop near Setsuna, it's all over, his sword at his side, stained. She's looking a bit worse for the wear herself, clothing torn and coated in a mix of dirt and blood, but unhurt.]

[He's safe. That's what she came to ensure, and now that she sees it, maybe she should... even if he looks so...]

[As ever, heart over reason.]

S-Setsuna?

[He wasn't the type to avoid, often. He only was avoiding Hatter now, mostly, because of the amount of awkward involved in Setsuna knowing Hatter way too intimately. Saya hadn't been a concern.]

[And, the moment he discovered Sara gone, Setsuna had withdrawn completely, as if he hadn't curled up on himself enough after the weekend left him feeling ashamed. Then fighting with Kira, and realizing he was being an inconsiderate brat towards the one person that would do anything for him. It had all been too much.]

[Hearing her voice right then, his hand almost lets go of Nanatsusaya, but the sword vanishes before that can happen, becoming a bracelet once more. Why hadn't he realized yet he had been longing to hear her voice this whole time?]

Saya? [He gives her a once over, before walking right over to hug her.] You're a mess.

[The first meeting of their eyes almost stops her heart, fear and nerves and a thousand useless apologies tangling hopelessly, throat closing off to prevent any of them from being said. What he must think of her...]

[His embrace is returned without thought, her face buried into his shoulder, greedy fingers clutching at his shirt. She's nothing but selfish, needing him like she does. Never thinking beyond the spark of her own happiness when he calls for her or reaches for her.]

[Remembering much belatedly that he asked a question, she nods against him, answers with a thick voice.] So are you. [A somber, tarnished pair -- but a pair nonetheless.]

[Her apologies would be rebuffed before she finished, anyway. Setsuna's main concern isn't some cursed weekend and what she did, but what he might have left her with. All of the thoughts that remain unspoken between them. He thinks nothing more of her than what always has. She's Saya. Spirited and adorable and sexy all in one package, and there's nothing else he could ever think of her.]

[With his arms around her, Saya's comment fades his earlier morose mood. He gives a smile then, and a light, warm chuckle. He picks at her hair, lightly.]

Yeah. I kinda got lost in there. I need that sometimes, I guess.

[When Setsuna does reply, he's covered in blood, expression hardened.]

What's odd?

[This time her nod isn't followed by words, not trusting her voice. Need that sometimes... a feeling she knows far too intimately. And of course he's not ashamed of it, he's an angel for goodness sake, with that sweet smile and the innocent way he touches her that make her want to keep him for herself.]

[Saya thumbs at a smudge of grime on his cheek, her hand sliding on its own to cup his face. She curses her weakness, this is why she should have left it alone.]

As long as you let me find you, after.

Your world's version of 'him'.

He looks a little different back home. But that is our God.

[He thinks he's beyond forgivable, admitting his violence without hesitation simply because that's who he is now. But he can't look at Saya and not smile, the mindless fighting a fleeting thought in her midst.]

Always. [He takes one of her hands.] I'll always come back.

And I want you to find me. [Their faces were only ever this close, and closer, the prior weekend. But from the beginning, emotionally, they had been this close, hadn't they?]

[With her fingers sliding through the fringe of hair on his neck and her face lifted toward his, the only thing missing is the courage to vanish that last inch of space between them. Saya smiles back, even though it felt impossible to do so mere seconds ago. He's not hers in the sense she needs, but each time she tries to deny herself the connection it fights back with equal force.]

I'm sorry it took me this long. [What happened between them days ago seems suddenly smaller and she can breathe again, at last.]

[He shakes his head to that.] You're fine. Right on time.

[Who doesn't even know where he belongs any longer. So if he can drift in her arms in the meantime? He's not going to complain, not one bit. Instead, he'll cherish it, whatever little time remains for them. One thing, though.]

Mmm, but Saya? We should get inside somewhere. This is going to quickly become a bad place to chat. [He can tell - the ghouls are getting back up, the ones he couldn't kill, and more are coming.]

Oh -- right. [So easy to forget, in the safe haven of his embrace, that there's danger right beside them. She picks up her blade where she dropped it (when did that happen?); it's little more than a very long knife, but she made do.]

Where should we...? [The idea of going their separate ways isn't even considered.]

You've been fighting them with that? [A grin. Once upon a time he was the sort who might have told her she shouldn't be fighting. That it was a man's job, and his job to protect her. Now, he's damn glad she can.]

Impressive. Very.

I should introduce you to Alexiel one day.

[Looking down at the blood-coated knife, she feels that strange familiarity rising again.] It was just the first thing I saw. [It feels not quite natural, but close enough that she didn't hesitate.]

[Blinking back the haze where a memory should be, she tugs on Setsuna's hand.] Where do you think is safest? [Anywhere but Diva's mansion, she'll go.]

We should go to a roof. [He looks up to the sky.] Or back to my apartment. It's fairly high up. [Back to Saya.] You fine with that? We could try to get cleaned up, too.

[His apartment -- that really should upset her more than it does, knowing what happened there. But it's just a place, as good as any other for refuge.]

[And anyway, maybe she doesn't mind remembering as much, right this second.]

Okay. I'm right beside you. [In case there was any doubt at all that nothing can keep her away from him, not curses or ghouls or the what-ifs of how she'd have preferred to share his bed.]

Yet another reason for me to decline a halo.

[You're breaking his miiiiind right now.]

Come again?

[He's covered in blood when he answers the device sometime later.] Come again what?

We don't have halos. [Flap, flap.]

[He wouldn't understand why it should be upsetting. It's where he sleeps every night, and one night, at least, he wasn't alone.]

[When she vocalizes her presence, Setsuna takes Saya's hand. He'll make certain of it. Hurrying with her beside him instead of taking to the skies, like he normally would.]

If we get surrounded, put your back to mine. We'll be fine.

[We'll be fine. He's not referencing them as a whole necessarily, but it's still nice to hear. Like if she did as she should and begs forgiveness, all he'll say is that there was no need, because he'd already given it. (Or that he doesn't regret it, but that's too much to hope, even from him.)]

[She flips the knife into a better grip, her protective instincts flaring as she squeezes his hand. Anything that tries to separate them won't leave the encounter intact.]

[Part of her, barely acknowledged, almost hopes for the chance.]

Figure of speech.

I don't get what our God has to do with it, though. Being an angel doesn't mean shit.
