Video / Action
[Jimmy is heading towards the hospital, limping more heavily than usual, face pale and drawn, as though he's seen a ghost. And given what's been going on lately, he certainly has. He's taken out his phone to post a short message, and he sounds out of breath.]
If anyone knows... what the hell's going on, what the fuck is... just... I wanna know. I wanna know how this is possible.
[Another few ragged breaths, and the hospital is in view.]
I'm... going to the hospital. I think I'm sick. I dunno.
[Pushing open the door to the hospital, he immediately looks around, calling out.]
I need a doctor!
[[OOC: Feel free to run into Jimmy in the hospital or on the way, or over the network. He isn't actually sick, he just has no idea how to deal with the emotions that this curse is stirring up.]]

action; open
Running on the assumption that Jimmy managed to get hurt before coming to the hospital, Penny makes a point of grabbing Wilson on her way down to get him, offering very little in the way of a coherent explanation.]
action; I SEE AN OPENING /dives headfirst into threadjacking
He's keeping an eye out for a lot of things - through the windows, for anything trying to get in, around the hallways, down each adjoining one, around each corner - and of course, looking out for the presumably injured young man.]
Re: action; /WELCOMES YOU WITH OPEN ARMS
Hey, Penny.
[And then he looks at Wilson.]
You a doctor?
action; /SOMETHING RELEVANT AND HUMOROUS HERE
Penny immediately hugs Jimmy once they reach the entryway.]
He's a great doctor. Where're you hurt?
action; <3
He does offers a slight, tight smile. It's an attempt to be friendly in the midst of the madness, even as he's still looking around all around them, alert and nervous.]
I'm Doctor Wilson.
[And Penny's already asking his first question, but he has a related follow-up.]
Are you able to walk? The wards, upstairs and further in, are much safer.
no subject
[He shakes his head, already ready to move towards the wards.]
I don't feel right. I dunno, I think I'm gettin' sick with somethin'. I can't breathe, I'm fuckin'... I don't feel steady.
no subject
[Penny sticks with Jimmy, still concerned. Maybe he is sick.]
Don't worry, okay? Stay calm. I'm sure that whatever's wrong can be fixed.
no subject
[He's perfectly happy for them to stick together; it makes it easier for him to keep an eye on the both of them. Which he does, still keeping an eye out in all directions, hyper-alert and (rightfully) paranoid. What Jimmy's describing sounds like he's in danger of going into a panic attack more than anything else.]
Right now we'll just focus on moving, all right? We need to take this one thing at a time: we stick together, keep walking, get to safety. That's how we'll handle it... we just need to handle each thing as it comes.
no subject
[Dr. Wilson would be right guessing that Jimmy is far closer to a panic attack than actually being sick, but Jimmy has no idea what a panic attack really means, and though he's experienced them before, has always chalked them up to being sick. He's convinced, somehow, that these ghouls that have been appearing have infected him with some kind of sickness.]
I saw this... I saw a fuckin'...
[He shakes his head, and concentrates on heading in the direction Wilson guides him. He can't quite go into it yet.]
no subject
It's okay. We can talk about it later, right?
no subject
We can... remember, one thing at a time. First we get ourselves somewhere safer, then we'll get you checked out and we can talk about it - if you want to.
[It's an important addendum, if you want to. Pushing too directly can always backfire, make somebody shut down.]
no subject
[Because focusing on what he can do well has always served him better than facing a problem head on. At least, he thinks so. It's probably let to a lot of repression of feelings. Feelings that he's now feeling intensely, and from the way he stumbles slightly as he walks, he's disoriented, too.]
no subject
[She hasn't seen anything yet. Then again, Penny hasn't been doing a lot of looking for things that could kill people. (Her priorities are unique.)]
no subject
[Under the circumstances, he'll make sure you haven't been bitten and aren't going into a fever-induced delirium anytime soon. As far as Penny goes, he's not expecting the her, in her condition, to be keeping on the alert. All the more reason he's worrying incessantly about it himself.]
It's certainly safer than a lot of other places, but I can't say I'm honestly sure. What I do know is that our security is focused on keeping a concentrated area safe, so that they can do that as effectively as possible.
no subject
[He needs it like he needs a security blanket. He needs to know that he can shoot something if it comes to that. Glancing at Penny, he manages to smile weakly.]
Nothin' is gonna get you, okay? We'll be safe.
[Then glances at Wilson.]
Hey. Thanks.
no subject
[She smiles back at Jimmy, but she doesn't feel particularly threatened. The hospital seems safe so far.]
no subject
We are here to help. Not that it's exactly what I had in mind in medical school.
[Being in the City wasn't entirely planned either, of course. He glances to Penny, nodding at her concern - he shares it, hence he'll be making sure Jimmy's not going to go delirious on them anytime soon.]
We will be all right. We'll stay calm and stay together, and we'll be safe.
[It's addressed to everyone, himself included. Last time something like this happened, he wasn't actually there to see much beyond the initial outbreak. He doesn't intend on that happening again.]
no subject
Okay, so, um... you can fix me, right? Whatever I'm sick with, you can fix? Penny, ya said he was a good doctor, right?
no subject
[Maybe she's slightly delirious, because the thought of teaching a bunch of doctors-in-training to fend off hoards of the undead is really funny. But no, keeping calm, staying together, seeing what's wrong with Jimmy, getting someplace safe. Not necessarily in that order.
She squeezes Jimmy's shoulder reassuringly.]
The best doctor. You'll be okay. We all will.
no subject
[That and a shake of his head are his response to Penny's zombie invasion query. Jimmy's question is a bit less easy to handle, so he's glad for the endorsement. He gives her a brief smile, before going back to watching out along their path.
He'd argue against being called "the best", but under the circumstances, it's not a battle he feels like picking. Besides, it would hardly instill confidence.]
Once we get upstairs, we'll get you checked out. We'll take the fixing from there.
[He already has doubts that it's physiological, but that doesn't mean Jimmy isn't getting checked over. Or that what is wrong won't be addressed.]
no subject
Okay. Yeah.
[Jimmy lapses into silence as they head up the stairs to the wards, trying to concentrate on his breathing, trying to calm himself down. He's seen a lot of things in his life, things he never wanted to see, things he can never forget, but what he saw tonight really jarred him, made him question a whole hell of a lot of things.
He doesn't know if the doctor can fix that. He doesn't usually trust doctors. But he has to trust this one, because he feels like he's dying.]
