Clint's right. This place really does have to work on its sense of humour.

[Ginny's in the office of Passioné, doors and windows locked, wand in hand at all times. She's seen her brother's face out of the corner of her eye over and over and it's put her on edge, but not enough to stay out of trouble. When she pushes a hand through her unruly hair, there's gauze spotted with red wrapped around her left forearm—that's her reason for making the broadcast, really, so she holds it up to the camera.]

Word of warning if you're playing the heroic Gryffindor like yours truly—they bite.

[She looks like she might say something else, but there's a clatter of sound from the window and she freezes, eyes narrowing. And then she reaches out and switches the feed off.]

Jesus, kid.

[ Bucky's nerves are shot to hell already. He's seen uniforms he could do without, caught the glimpse of a needle one too many times. But he's had to stay out, had to keep going, it's his job, right? That's what he does.

That doesn't mean he sounds happy. Not when Ginny's injured and panic claws up his throat. ] I'm coming to get you.

Bucky, calm down.

[Her voice is earnest, unruffled despite the fact she's seen her dead brother's face one too many times today. She knows it isn't Fred. He wouldn't want to hurt his family. (He wasn't the one that did this, it was the one who got between them.)]

The bastard didn't even get a good chunk out of me. It's a scratch. Are you okay?

I'm not having you hauled up in your shop on your own.

[ There's just the slightest edge to his voice, the beat of breath as he moves. ] M'doin' fine. Gonna need more bullets tomorrow but so far, so good.

[ Except he keeps seeing HYDRA weapons and HYDRA badges. ]

I'm taking a break.

[She pauses, listening to him for a moment; she doesn't need to be rescued, but he sounds like he's about to explode. So then she adds - ]

Sounds like you should, too. I can let you in and we'll see about those bullets.

[ He has no idea what taking a break means, Ginny. ]

You sell weapons with those fancy clothes of yours? [ It almost sounds amused, but there's the sound of his heavy footfall and his quick breathing, so. ] You need a doctor?

[No, they don't sell weapons but she can have him sit down and maybe stop looking over his shoulder for a few minutes. Everyone's living this invasion that way.]

I'm fine, I promise. Barely even bled. [It's a bite, it looks nastier than it is.] Come by and I'll prove it to you.

[She pauses.]

Some curse, huh?

Bunch of the guys are making jokes I don't really get about it.

[ The zombie apocalypse doesn't really exist where he's from. ] Should'a known the deities had something like this up their sleeve though.

They wouldn't let us have a new year without something special, no.

[She heaves a sigh, rubbing a hand across her face, her next words muffled by her fingers.]

This one's especially nasty. I'd say I was going mad but I reckon everyone feels that way right now.

I had to close the curtains yesterday. [ It's soft, she'd have to strain to make it out. ] Couldn't look out the window. Thought I'd finally gone and snapped like soldiers do.

[She's quiet as he speaks, knows what he's about to say before he even says it because what else would it be? She understands. She wonders if there are others from the war out there, not just Fred.

She doesn't want to think about it.]

You're alright, Bucky. I don't think any of us can stand to look out our windows whether or not we were soldiers. It's a hard thing to see.

[She doesn't know who he sees but as anyone who's seen people dead around them, that's enough.]

Thanks for the tip. I've managed to avoid that so far.

I didn't see him coming, smacked him in the face with my arm. Sort of worked.

[And here is your brother, Ginny, bruised and a little bloodied, clearly not above going into the fray himself. He's seen Fred's face, too; heard the broken, guttural accusations, and it's got him acting out to fight back the grief and pain and terror - anything, anything.

And he's the sensible one, remember.]

I'm coming; you need to have that hand looked at. Are you at Passioné?

For Merlin's sake, you'd think I had my arm chewed off. I'm fine.

[Ginny's rattled but she hasn't lashed out yet and maybe there's something wrong about that or maybe she's seen too many curses that have played on this fear before (walking through a nightmarish joke shop chased by the inferi of her dead brother). She pushes it all away, focuses on others just like her mother, and she zeroes in on Percy the moment she sees him on her screen.]

Yes, I'm at the shop. What the hell are you doing? Watch your back!

It could get infect -

[At her warning, he whirls, wand out.]

Incendio!

It could get infected. This is no time for that. I'll be there shortly.

Percy Weasley, I'm not an idiot. [She holds up a bottle of purple potion, irritated.] It's taken care of.

[She watches him, jaw tight.]

Bloody hell— [A breath.] Get out of the street. You need this more than I do.

[He's at the hospital, at the end of a long by of beds, machines blinking in the background.]

Let me take a look at that.

[She's made it home by now (she knows far too many stupid noble boys) and is in the middle of locking her window when the video comes through. This whole thing has her on edge like everyone else and sudden voices, like it or not, make her heart jump in her throat because it could be Fred again (or someone else).]

Godric's balls, Chase, don't do that! [She crosses to her device and picks it up, frowning down at it.] Take a look at what? You're alright, aren't you? Not going out in this mess like some idiots we know?

[There's a wry twist to her grin as she says it. Like me, like my brother, like the whole City.]

You got bitten by a zombie!? Have you never seen a movie in your life? Don't you know what that means?!?!

[He's half incredulous, half sarcasm, seriously, does no one watch zombie movies?]

[Flatly,]

Pretty sure I'm not dying.

A rotting corpse just sank it's teeth into you, can you honestly not see why that might be bad?

[Really, mate, not now. She has a headache and she's feeling snappy.]

I can see that I cleaned it with a magic potion.

[Snappy for braaaaaaaaaaaains?]

Well lets cross our fingers its not contagious then.

[He rolls his eyes a little before asking seriously] Does it hurt?

[NO. NO BRAINS.]

It stings. [She shrugs.] The City's thrown worse at me. Given how mad these things are, I'd say this is lucky. How're you doing?

Yeah.

[ It doesn't take him long to take out the ones near the front of the shop. He already knows they'll respawn, but it gives him enough time to knock on the door, gun trained on them. He just hopes Ginny's quick on the draw enough to let him in. ]
