045 x 540 // video/action // family day (backdated saturday)
[[ooc; Carla's two dogs Rex (
sandurufu) and Peanut (
fluffanut) have been effected by the Family Day curse, they will be little boys for the weekend (pretend I posted this yesterday.)]]
[This video begins with two little faces, neither of which are Carla and both of whom seem to be aware that they are playing with something that doesn't belong to them. There are a pair of little boys smiling impishly, one with red hair and another little brunette with chipmunk cheeks.]

[The little redhead addresses the camera excitedly,]
We're gonna surprise mom.
[The other boy nods in agreement,]
Pancakes. We're gonna make pancakes.
[They gather themselves up then, the camera giving a full view of Carla's beachside flat as they make their way into her well-lit kitchen area. They weren't joking about the pancakes. Once they've set the camera on the kitchen table, they begin to scale the counters and cabinets, getting all the ingredients together before proceeding to make an epic mess everywhere, an entire bag of flour exploding in a cloud.
They've only just begun to fry them up, smoke billowing up as they burn, fire alarm beginning to whine, when Carla comes home. She's silent in the door, both boys lifting their heads from their work to stare at her attentively.]
Hi, mommy.
We made breakfast!
[When Carla replies, she sounds earnestly confused and possibly a bit anxious, rocked in her usual calm,]
What the fuck is this.

PARK
[ You can make the dog a boy, but you can't take the dog out... Carla is watching her pair of 'sons' chase squirrels in the park. They're having a fabulous time, she looks a bit nauseous. ]

CANDY STORE
[ I don't think dogs are supposed to eat this much chocolate... Where is this duo's mother? ]

DINER
[ Dogs can haz cheeseburgers though. They are also greeting everyone who walks by, by name if they happen to have sniffed you before. Carla has her head in her hands lethargically eating a basket of french fries. ]

EVERYWHERE ELSE
[ Really. Go for it. ]

Might've left those on the stove just a bit too long, boys... [Chandela sounds rather helpless (which she is, technically, as she's only watching this scene unfold on a screen).] ...

They'll be okay!

[Hopefully not to eat!]

Hi!
[ Both of the kids vibrate with energy, like they'd be wagging tails if they till had them. ]
Who are you? What's your name?
[Although they don't have any particular preference for who answers.]

[That just makes him even more curious, though. Paws making a little noise in the snow, he tries to approach without being noticed. Just to observe, that's all!]

[ Except he can, in fact, smell traces of her pets on the brats, supplanted by the scent of happy, dusty human children. His look shifts to one of pale unease. He pities you, Carla. ]
