[She smiles fondly at the device, almost as if the previous day was more than enchanting to her. Everyone dressing up so regally, it was like being back at the castle, but still had the freedom she knows now. However, that grand time got her thinking of all the stories she had read, and of course, a one that she’s very fond of comes to mind.]

I wanted to tell everyone a story. It’s about the brightest star in the night sky, Brave Vesperia. I’m sure some of you have heard the name before, however, this is the story behind it:

"In the days of old, a great cataclysm occurred that plunged the world into ruin. Countless lives were lost as the people struggled to stand against the oncoming disaster. Its energies all but spent, humanity's hope seemed lost when a pair of siblings appeared. This brother and sister together fought the calamity, and saved the world from annihilation. The sister they called Child of the Full Moon. After the struggle, she remained with the earth. The brother they called Brave Vesperia, and ascended to the skies to watch over the world."

The end.

[She thinks fondly on the story. Of course, it’s actually a fairytale version of an actual event that occurred in her world, but no one really needs to know that. She likes this version. It’s happier. A lot happier.]

What... became of her?
a_parting_word: (boo)

[personal profile] a_parting_word 2012-02-06 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
And never saw her brother again?
a_parting_word: (humanizes)

[personal profile] a_parting_word 2012-02-06 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a depressing story to go out of your way to tell, isn't it?
a_parting_word: (them's the guidelines)

[personal profile] a_parting_word 2012-02-07 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
It's a story about two people ending up forever parted. What's there so majestic about that?
a_parting_word: (hmmmmmmmmm)

[personal profile] a_parting_word 2012-02-07 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
You... their situation doesn't matter to you, as long as everyone else is comforted, does it?
a_parting_word: (out of hand)

[personal profile] a_parting_word 2012-02-07 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
What's the longest you've gone without someone for whom you care deeply, knowing he's there, just outside your reach?
negativegate: (making excuses)

That story ended being pretty sugar-coated compared to the real thing.

[Rita: always a bundle of joy.]

What kind of cataclysm? We talking a flood, a fire, an earthquake, giant volcanoes...what?
negativegate: (wasn't me)

[personal profile] negativegate 2012-02-07 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Is it? I thought it was depressing.

[Totally bright...And she can't not think of what the reality was when she hears this story now.]
oceantrauma: (Unsure)

[personal profile] oceantrauma 2012-02-07 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Hearing it a second time, it sounds...more depressing than the first.

[Or maybe this second telling is tainted by his knowledge of the true story. Either way, he thought it sad from the get-go.]
oceantrauma: (Slightly neutral look)

[personal profile] oceantrauma 2012-02-07 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
It is still a tale about noble heroics. I can't blame anyone for liking it, if they enjoy that sort of sad thing.
negativegate: (I guess that'll do)

[personal profile] negativegate 2012-02-07 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
That does make it worse...But the story's pretty sad on its own, don't you think?

[D-don't pout, Estelle-!]
oceantrauma: (Bask in your presence)

Is the hope in how Brave Vesperia watches over your world? [Because, otherwise, he doesn't see much of that in there.]

That is a gallant name to give them. Did you leave that guild in your world, or was it established here?
