0201: Mistletoe kisses
[There's giggling. Lots of giggling.]
A deer just licked my cheek! I think the mistletoe got to her too!
I'm going to work now, but I wanted to tell everyone because it was just so funny!
[Rain can be found at or on her way to the Library or at random places around the City as she looks at the pretty window decorations. Please come and kiss her!]

[ it didn't take much of a genius to realize what today was or that Rain could be found in the library. Not that he thought of exploiting the event.
Never.
He just, um... wanted to check out a book on the finer points of, um... oh, hey look. It's Rain. ]
Hello. [ he waves at her, tucking a stray book underneath his arm. ] Staying busy are today are you? [ because busy is much better then kissing anyone and everyone in the library. Busy was good. ]

Hi!
[She set down the books she was shelving and moved towards him. She knew what kind of day it was and had hoped Arthur would come see her so she'd have an excuse to kiss him, but right now, seeing him, all she could think of was how happy she was to have him there.]
You came to see me!
[And yes, now they were both quite handily under some mistletoe.]

[ urk, wait. That sounded even more contrived then it actually was. Good grief. Since when was a kiss less embarrassing then asking someone out on a date? ]
no subject
[Rain considered that, resisting the urge to just kiss him.]
I'd like that, I think. I guess I am kind of hungry.
[She shifted a step closer, close enough that she could almost feel the warmth of his body, close enough that if they'd both been looking at each other instead of being shy that their breath would mingle.]
no subject
He looked down at her and gulped. ] Only just a little bit hungry? [ because he was certainly feeling more then a tiny bit famished himself. As his hand no doubt surely tells as it reaches up to brush a stray lock of hair back behind her ear. It was so soft and tangled so easily between his fingers. Maybe close was good. ]

I...
[She reached out to steady herself, resting her hand on his chest, and looking up at him, lower lip caught between her teeth. She couldn't quite help leaning into him a little, eyes asking him to move that final bit and kiss her.]
Maybe... maybe more than a little bit.
no subject
Good. Because I'm starving.
[ And then he simply brushed his lips against hers. A light touch, a seeking touch. If he frightened her now, he would never, ever, forgive himself. ]

She closed her eyes as his lips brushed ever so softly against hers, wanting to remember this moment, this second, for the rest of her life.
And she kissed him back, equally gently, not wanting to do anything to ruin this moment.]

It made butterflies flit in his stomach and before he could think, before he could remember what thought was, he was running his thumb across her cheek and leaning into it. Looking for that something, that something more that would tell him exactly what he felt, what he wanted. It was damn hard to breath with all that kissing going on. ]

She'd dreamed of this for so long now and it was even better than she could have imagined.
And if her mouth opened ever so slightly, inviting him to continue the kiss, well... it did.]
no subject
He wasn't a disappointment, right? ] As much as I'd like to continue this [ and he did ] I do believe I mentioned something about lunch?
[ because too much kissing can lead to a bad thing, especially secluded as they were in the library. Best to end it here before he truly did have a problem on his hands. ]
no subject
Maybe we can continue it later.
Where do you want to go for lunch? I can share my peanut butter crackers if you want to have lunch on the roof.
no subject
A picnic does sound nice. Give me twenty minutes and I can at least provide some cheese to go with those crackers. [ and a few more morsels beside ]

[Rain hadn't felt this happy in a while and she'd been pretty happy around Arthur for some time now.]
We can eat in the greenhouse. It's always nice and warm there, even when it's cold out. And so pretty with all the plants!
[She was reluctant to stop touching him. He was warm and he was holding her hand and... she could have stayed like that for hours.]
no subject
The greenhouse. Yes. Perfect. Do you have a blanket?
[ greenhouses are all well and nice, but Arthur liked to lounge. And a picnic isn't a picnic unless they were resting on the ground. ]
no subject
I have a fleece thing. I think it would be big enough.
[Lounging on the ground with Arthur? She'd like that ever so very much.]
no subject
Hmmm... then I won't be long.
[ except he's not moving still. Instead, he brushes her cheek again, for the pure reason that he could. ] Maybe I should bring some wine. [ he may need the brew to keep himself from doing anything... rash. ]
no subject
[Her voice and eyes were dreamy as she smiled up at him, but still she made no movement away. If he kept looking at her like that and touching her, she would gladly stay like this forever.]
Whatever you want is fine with me.
[Literally. Anything he wanted was fine with her. Anything.]
