[Jimmy bends down to pick something up out of view of the camera, and the something makes a yipping noise as he does so.]

C'mere.

[He holds up a Boston Terrier with a particularly grumpy expression to the camera, turning it this way and that.]

Nucky, meet the City. City, meet Nucky. 

[A pause as he sets the dog back down.]

Okay. So. Anyone know how to take care of a dog? Beyond the obvious shit, like walkin' 'em and makin' sure they don't chew up your stuff.

Well, I sure as hell ain't from here. Nobody really is. Guess we all got here with magic.

[horseish]

Oh. No one who lives here is from here? Who built the city?

[trenchknives]

That's a good question. Nobody seems to know that, either. I mean, there're these people here that I guess are from here, they call themselves the Deities, and they kinda... run this place.

[horseish]

Like a president?

[trenchknives]

Uh... more like a dictator, I guess. I think they control the curses. Have you heard about the curses?

[horseish]

I've heard about them, yes. I don't understand them fully.

[trenchknives]

Basically strange things happen. Sometimes they're just irritating. Hell, sometimes they're even kinda fun. Sometimes they're dangerous, though.

[horseish]

I can take care of myself.

[trenchknives]

I got no doubt that you can, but sometimes everyone needs a little help.

[horseish]

I help other people, at home. Like Rosie and my sister. But they're not here for me to look after now.

[trenchknives]

'n they never look after you?

[horseish]

Rosie's too little. I think maybe my sister looks after me sometimes, at least after our mother died. She worries a lot.

[trenchknives]

I'm sorry your mother died. That's hard to deal with.

[horseish]

[She makes a non-committal shrug.]
