Job Offer

Looking for one or two servants to work full time.

- Room and board provided
- Pay on a weekly basis
- Responsibilities include cleaning and pet care
- Prior experience required

The house is four stories including a large basement, patio, eight bedrooms, and six bathrooms. Only two of the bedrooms are currently occupied and need to be consistently attended to. The main areas in need of attention are the bathrooms and kitchen.

Despite their appearance, the patched holes in the walls and floors, water stains, and study are completely safe now. The study is off-limits in any case.

Pet care is required. We have a large dog, seven cats, and a handful of sheep that need to be fed, bathed, and cleaned up after.

Cooking isn't a required skill, but it is desirable.

Wage is three blues, given at the end of the first and third week of the month.

Not usually... They have a sort of pen, but I'm not really sure how to deal with them. Should they always be outside?

Why should I? I don't mind paying for one servant anymore than I mind paying for two...

Do you say the same thing to people who go to restaurants? I have better things to do than clean the house, and one of the people I live with actually doesn't know how to clean up.

I never had to deal with them back home, but I guess that's true for my world, too...

So they should stay outside in storms as well?

You don't know anything about keeping animals, do you? Well, if you never had to deal with them, I guess you wouldn't.

Build them a barn or a shelter. They can hide out there until the storm's over. Make 'em their own Sheep House.

And hey, they get pay and a house. Someone needs to take it, already!

I inherited all of the animals here when I moved in, but I didn't think I'd be stuck taking care of all of them, too.

But building their own shelter doesn't sound that hard... It'll make it easier than herding them into the basement.

Okay, okay, that's fair. Some are born to shepherding and some have shepherding thrust upon them. Methinks thou art the latter.

True. However, that doesn't apply here, especially in the case of those poor animals. Fortunately, your advert calls attention to their current living conditions. They'll be liberated soon enough.

I wouldn't mind if someone took them off our hands anyway; I'm not a farmer. We can handle the cats and dog, but I don't even know how they ended up with pink sheep.

Forget the want-ad for housekeepers. Put one up for selling the sheep complete with their pictures. Upcoming holiday plus uniquely colored pets; there will be takers and maybe even a Secret Santa considering making mischief.

For a little while--I came from a place that was pretty much all farmland. Even if you didn't raise them yourself, you still knew about it.

So it's a win all around.
