For anyone who has not heard already and knew them, Lena and Asami are no longer in the City. I did not know Asami as well as I wish I might have, but Lena was a good friend. At least she will be happy to be home... she did not like being in the City.

[And changing topics. No one wants to dwell on the negative.]

I have two questions. First, does anyone know how the ship on the side of the mountain came to be where it is? I went inside of it, but there was nothing informative there and most of it was, I think, inaccessible. It looks to me like a spacecraft. I have heard stories in the City of aliens and creatures coming from beyond the barriers, but nothing related to a ship like this.

My second question is this: is it common to experience memory loss in the City? If not, should I be concerned? My medical knowledge is very limited, but if there is something wrong with my brain, I would like to know. It is, after all, the most important thing that I have.

I'm the head of security at a nightclub. [Bodyguard, assassin, whatever her best friend/boss needs her to be.] You?

Security! That is a challenging job. [He's thinking of a different kind of security, but.] At home, I am a navigator and other things, occasionally.

Luckily I'm pretty well equipped to handle it. [It's a mainly vampire club where the boss sells drugs and whatever else you might want to buy...he's actually got the right idea.] On a ship or something? Can see why the memory loss would be a concern.

Beyond the whole getting cursed and being trapped away from home thing, sure. [Well, she is part of two dying breeds that are being hunted down so...yep very close.]You're an astronaut? That's pretty...[interesting, unbelievable] really? [Isn't he kind of young?]

Beyond that, yes. The City can be very unpleasant. ['Astronaut'--what an adorably antiquated word!] I have never been called that, but I do work in space. [And, with some pride:] I'm the youngest ranking officer of Starfleet in history.

Have you been here for long? [Oh--right. Most people here aren't from the space!future.] Xhex, Sorry. It is like your... Navy? A defensive branch, but in space. The year is 2258 at home.

Almost a month now. [After talking with some of the others stuck here, she's no longer surprised by anything, including that.] That makes sense I suppose, someone would still need to serve and protect or whatever.
