[Starting a barroom brawl and spending a night in jail is not really helpful when you're hunting for a job. Uhura's been trying to hunt down a job her way, but no hits. It seems she made the mistake of causing trouble in a bar owned by someone popular.

So now she's trying it Chekov's way.]

So it turns out there's not much market here for linguists, and a friend told me I should try my luck posting on the network.

I'm fluent in half a dozen languages, specialize in computer programming, and if all else fails [with a bit of a laugh] I make a mean Cardassian Sunrise.

Well... guides and things. I know the network device auto-translates, but I think it'd be nice to hand out City guides in different languages, you know? Some people might feel more comfortable if they can actually read something in their own language.

I'm really terrible with technology, too, and people come by the Welcome Center with questions about the computers and things here and I can't do much to help them unless the tech kid's around. It's not programming, exactly...

I have to be honest with you, I'm not native to this kind of technology. I shouldn't have any problem figuring it out, though. And the guides sound like fun. How many languages are you thinking?

Oh, that's fine. You'll be better at it than me, anyway... the only thing I know to do when something isn't working is turn it off and start it up again. That or hit it.

This is really dumb, but I don't really know what kind of languages are most common in the City? I mean, English is pretty standard, and then I've been told that a lot of people speak Japanese.
