Er-- I think perhaps I ought to say something about the virtues of patience and endurance, but honestly, it's difficult to take that seriously at the best of times. I only hope that those of you who are able to, er, get about, are willing to aid those who aren't.

Effective, more or less, for as long as I allow it.

You can will it to work or not work? ...Are you capable of willing yourself drunk without the help of alcohol, or free of pain without medication?

Oh, a certain amount of, er, discomfort is inevitable if you're going to be going about in a corporeal state-- keeps you from bumping into things and all that.

Getting drunk is half the fun of being drunk, if not more. I'm not sure I see the point.

Is it? I have never been very drunk; it seems that it would be convenient to attain that state at will.

It's terribly impractical; nearly impossible to get any work done whilst intoxicated.
