You know, I've never actually played this one before. So really I should be thanking the City right now.

[She reaches out to give a playful punch to someone off camera.]

I just told you I don't mind.

I could tell you a poem if you wanted. I know a lot of those.

I bet there's a lot of things you don't know about us angels. I can do Jabberwocky as well if you wanted.

I'll take your word for it. The only poems I know are depressing.

I don't--um. There's part of one that isn't so bad:

Eternity points, in its amaranth bower
Where no clouds of fate o'er the sweet prospect lour,
Unspeakable pleasure, of goodness the dower,
When woe fades away like the mist of the heath.

[He gets no points for delivery.]

...It makes me think of a girl.

[She scooches in a little closer so she can rest her head on his shoulder.]

Which girl?

[He doesn't actually mind, which surprises him slightly.]

Euphie. Did you know her?

[Good because she's not moving yet.]

Yeah! I went bath suit shopping with her once.

[othersdie]

[This is surprisingly comfortable. Justin rests his head on Dulcie's.]

I saw her yesterday. ...I told her I love her.

[She laces her fingers through his. Just while they're here.]

That was very brave.

Not really. I've been working up to it.

[Well... that's acceptable.]

She said she loves me too.

I'm glad for you. People don't tell each other that often enough.

...Do you say it often?

[justamessenger]

Not as often as I should. But it's hard sometimes, with me. I've been around for a long time. And will still be around for a lot of time later.

[othersdie]

That sounds lonely.

[justamessenger]

It is a bit. It's why I like keeping other people around.

[othersdie]

Are you ever tempted to just... give up on people? On getting attached to them?

[justamessenger]

If there's a way of doing that successfully I haven't worked it out yet.

[That's so sad that he almost wants to hug her.]

At least you're as transient as everyone else in the City.

Do you think of that as a comfort?

Not particularly, but I haven't had the chance to outlive friends.
