[Sephiroth isn't affected by the curse at all (or maybe he is, just the tiniest bit). He is already completely confident in himself and his appearance, and he doesn't feel compelled to act in any particular way.

It is true that he isn't wearing a shirt. But when does he wear a shirt? (Okay, sometimes he does, but it's not a part of his uniform, that's for sure.) However, does a SOLDIER need an excuse not to wear a shirt? No, he does not. He does have an excuse for going around like this, however. He used his usual long, leather coat to cover a wounded woman while transporting her to the hospital. He's been busy, so has yet to regain it and have it cleaned, though he will shortly. For now, he's only wearing two leather straps that crisscross across his chest.

Not feeling strange in the least, Sephiroth has gone to the grocery store to shop for greens. Chocobos need a lot of them. A responsible pet owner (maybe he takes things a little too seriously) he's picking through them to find the freshest and highest quality greens available.

He'll also be stopping by the pet store later for bird treats. Feel free to bump into him at either location, or out and about.]

He isn't quite sure how to react at first to Rosiel--attaching himself to him like this. Their interactions have been odd, but not unfriendly, so he decides to tolerate it for now.]

Perverts? [He raises his eyebrow, mildly amused by this declaration. He was aware of a curse, but it had seemed harmless to him.] You need not worry for my sake. I'm certain I can handle myself.

[Alois is going to meet Sephiroth at the grocery store. He could have sent Claude instead, but he'd rather buy what his little brother asked for himself.]

You're being quite selective with those greens. I wouldn't have thought of you as picky.

[ He lends more weight on to Sephiroth's arm, frowning softly. ]

No, I suppose you're one of them, aren't you, Commander?

[He turns and gives Alois a nod, recognizing him.] Is that so? I find it more sensible to be discriminating.

Why not select the best, if one is given a choice?

[Perhaps it's Sephiroth's insistence on engaging with unbalanced people in a rational fashion, likely a result of his upbringing, that allows him to continue tolerating this.

Although he's more unsure, his bearing remaining purely formal, as difficult as that air might be to maintain with someone leaning on his arm.]

I don't believe that's an accurate assessment of the situation. I'm not suffering from the effects of a curse. [Or maybe he is, just a touch. It's not as if he doesn't own dress shirts, since he wears them to the lab.]

I just didn't think you'd care. I also didn't picture you eating something like that. [He's apparently got a very fixed idea of how Sephiroth should be like, just by looking at him. And he's turning out to be pretty different from how he expected him to be.] Are those for you?

What do you believe I eat? [He's slightly amused by this, although he doesn't show it. These greens may be for his bird, but he does maintain a strict, healthy diet. He would probably eat nothing but military rations without minding it, but they are nutritionally balanced, and he doesn't have that option here.]

No, these are for my animal companion.

I thought you ate meat.

[Maybe the body of his enemies. Alois has quite a wild imagination, and Sephiroth looks like this big dangerous warrior, so it's easy for him to make associations.] I'm here to buy chocolate, because that's what I eat.

[He looks interested.] You have a pet? Is it a dog? I have a puppy, and I'm trying to find another puppy to make them play together.

It's not that I don't eat meat, but meals should be varied and balanced. [He far prefers fish and game birds to the bodies of his enemies.] And is chocolate all you eat? [He smiles.]

It's a large bird, although still a juvenile.

[He smiles back because he's amused. He hasn't seen Sephiroth smile much before now.] No, I also eat cake. When my butler makes it.

Can you talk to it? Claude knows how to talk to birds. [He frowns a little.] Oh also-- why are you half naked?

Quite the well-rounded diet. [It's not Sephiroth's place to say anything about it, but he's amused as well, though his faint wryness is the only sign of it he gives.]

In a manner of speaking, as it's an extremely intelligent species. It can be taught to understand commands, and I've been training it.

I loaned my coat to someone. [This strikes him as sufficient explanation.]

Is it the kind that can speak as well? If it is, you should teach him how to say interesting words, like tchotchke.

[He himself has no idea what that word means. But he found it in the dictionary, and feels very high and mighty everytime he gets to say it.]

And why weren't you wearing a shirt underneath? If we were in my world, nobody would invite you to dinner parties anymore after seeing you like this. Except for me. I'd still invite you, because in my Manor we've got plenty of shirts.

They communicate with each other through vocalizing, but they don't speak human languages. [His device translates the word into his own language, so much of the effect is lost, and he's not sure what's particularly interesting about it.]

Our worlds must be very different, but I wouldn't wear this to a dinner party. It's part of my uniform. It's designed to be striking, when complete. [All in keeping with ShinRa propaganda, and as the renowned "great hero", he isn't worried about people not inviting him places--not that he usually has much time for social gatherings, especially lately.] But I thank you for your generosity.

[He giggles.] And why do you need your uniform to be striking? To impress people?

Perhaps you will. He often accompanies me outside.

I'm the commanding general of the armies. It's important that I stand out, for various reasons. Recruitment, for one, and it has its advantages on the battlefield.
