[ Earnestly. ] You must be careful around him, Amelia. He's not very safe, but I'm trying to -. [ A hand running fitfully through his hair. ] I let him down a long time ago and we've been fighting ever since. I don't want you to get caught in the crossfire, but I can't abandon him.

Oh. ( There's a story there, isn't there? Squeezing his hand. ) Promise I will be. You should tell me 'bout him.

Scones, Doctor? ( He gets a big smile, though, and she leans her head against his shoulder even while walking. ) Yes, all right.

[ And here they are at the hat shop with all the hats he knocked over. ] Ah.

Bit of a hurry? ( Another squeeze of his hand. She gets it, she'd have been in a hurry as well. )

[ Oh Amy, if he could just keep you and Rory safe and happy. ]

I'm here now. ( And if she gets her say, she's not going to leave anytime soon. )

[ Pulling her into another tight hug. ] I'll get the tea started and we can have a good old chat.

Has it been long for you?

A few weeks. It feels like much longer.

It's been years.

But you and Rory, you're growing old together.

Yeah. We are. ( A slight smile. ) We, we're thinking of adopting.

[ Oh. He looks absolutely delighted at that, happy for them for the first time since he'd lost them. (Of course, he'd been glad they were together, but they were his and he loved them and lost them and it had hurt.) ]

Oh Amy, that's wonderful.

( It's terrifying, after what happened with Melody, and Amy hates that she can't have any more children, that they did something, but it isn't only Rory who wants children again — she never got the chance to raise Melody.

She wants that. ) Yeah.

[ Hugging her again. ] You'll both be so wonderful.

( She wishes he could be there, be the godfather. ) I hope so. I really, really do.
