He was ginger once, did you know that? Unfortunately, that regeneration had the unfortunate side effect of being colorblind. I fixed that for him, but he wasn't terribly grateful.

He's on his eleventh now, really? That man, I swear, he goes through regenerations like people go through pairs of socks.

I imagine it has been, yes. I haven't seen him since his eighth regeneration. Since the War.

I'm dead, correct? My core temperature has dropped, and my hearts aren't beating. And yet, here I am.

I would like an explanation for what should be scientifically impossible.

Yeah. ( Okay. So. This is awkward. ) Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're dead.

This place does that. I've no idea about the science, though.

I thought as much. Being killed mid-regeneration is usually permanent.

Well, there needs to be an explanation. One does not simply stop being dead while still displaying the biological symptoms of a corpse.

You could ask the Deities. If anyone'd know, it'd be them.

More likely they are beings in possession of and capable of using extremely advanced technology, masquerading as gods.

There is a general precedence for that sort of thing happening throughout history. It would not surprise me if it was occurring here.

What does surprise me is the Doctor putting up with it.
