thirty sixth run → video;

[ the device's camera isn't pointed at anything in particular. the actual device is sitting outside, on top of a box, and Agito's off to the side of said box. he twists his head back, to where Kazu happens to be standing and yells back-- ]

Oi! Beanpole, throw it! [ --aand a handheld gaming system flies through the air, going past Agito and towards the edge of the rooftop they're on. it doesn't just fall, though. no, Agito raises his leg, swings it forward, and uses his air trecks to throw a Fang in it's direction. which, of course, destroys the gaming system completely, shredding it into tiny metal bits and pieces. they fall into a pile of junk, broken up pieces of dozens of other items( all belonging to one Itsuki Minami ). Agito stops, rests the front wheels of his trecks against the ground for a moment, then yells over to Kazu again. ] Throw the next! Harder this time, idiot!

[ -- this time, it's the device that gets picked up, thrown, and with another kick-- destroyed, shattered, as a wave of compressed air slams into it. ]

[ he shifts, kicks out again-- and this Fang twists in mid-air, starting first going in a direction slightly to the side of Kazu, and then moving, to go right for his face again. ]

[ no, he knows that trick, and the solution's to get out of range entirely. he's backed out of the way in the few kicks it takes to see the air flex, the sharp curve that could've hit his face. ]

Not when you start by pretending it's gonna be a recycling session!

[ and he's racing back, seeming to blur straight for Agito. ]

We don't need to leave all this crap sitting around.

[ that definitely doesn't come off as safe, Kazu coming right at him. But Agito doesn't even move back, just shoves his hands down into his pockets and waits for him to get closer, close enough for those hooks attached to his legs to cut and slice into him-- because why the hell not? ]

[ except in the instant he's close enough to snare, there's a bright burst—and three, six, eight boys tumble out of the flare, each of them scratching sparks out of the paving stones in turn and kicking a brief, sharp jet in Agito's direction.

yeah, that's right. the makeshift battle just went up a level. ]

[ arms up, crossed in front of his face, and Agito-- speeds forward, right into one of the doppelganger's forms. the ends of his hair gets a bit singed, but Agito doesn't really care about that, right now. that grin gets wider, stretching his lips out across his teeth. he twists-- fast, and those hooks tied around his thighs swing out, hitting the forms of the doppelgangers around him before Agito moves right at Kazu to do the same to him. ]

[ caught out, Kazu startles, but he's already half-turned and the twist completes as planned—and in the instant Agito crosses too close, fire'll spring up in a sharp surge.

meanwhile, Kazu's backpeddling the hell away. ]

Man, where'd we get all this stuff from anyway?

[ he swerves through the flames, singeing his hair and clothes more. Agito stops, right after the line of fire and-- shoves his hands over his hair and shoulders, just to make sure nothing's burning.

the fight's over, at least. Agito doesn't move after him again. instead, he just looks at Kazu. ]

If you can't remember, then it doesn't fucking matter.

That's not what "doesn't matter" sounds like.

Yeah, yeah. Seriously, you sure you're okay?

[ Kazu's the one who's not okay. Agito moves a hand to the back of his head, shoving down strands of hair that had gotten out of place and checking the damage his hair had gotten. he doesn't look back over to Kazu, talks with his gaze to the side of him, instead. ]

That damned crow. This is his shit. What the fuck is wrong with your head, beanpole?

Wait—what the shit, you bought all that junk for a bird and you're asking what's with my head?

[ can he just punch Kazu in the face for being dumb, because Agito really wants to right now. he resists the urge to, just barely. instead he turns towards Kazu, irritated and making no effort to hide it. even if Kazu's cursed, forgetting Ikki while still remembering most other things seems a little too convenient. ]

What happened the day we met? Who was using the other bedroom of the apartment? When I fucking died, who was the other victim? Who's the leader of our team, idiot?

[ wince, flinch. he's got fingers absently digging into a temple as he answers. ]

It was at your match against the Bulls, right...?

Why were you there? Who did Akito follow home?

What? Where're all these questions coming from?

Do you know the answers to them?

[ all the air shocked clean out of his lungs in an instant - ]

[ another fang, in Kazu's direction. it's not meant to hit, he knows Kazu can dodge it well enough, but Agito's irritated, and obviously, this is the best way to deal with that. ]

What the fuck—Agito!

[ not that he couldn't have seen it coming, but bitching makes the world slow down. ]

So—what, that's supposed to be the team boss or something?

Leader of Kogarasumaru, your childhood friend, and the only reason I bothered staying with your weakass team full of dumbshits.

Why else would I bother training a useless, good for nothing stick like you?

[ silence. ]

That's how he balances us, huh.

[ still--still--still since the last of Agito's voice died from the air, and Kazu stands with his fists locked at his sides and his gaze direct. ]

So where's he supposed to be now?

[ Agito-- turns away from Kazu, moves towards the edge of the building. ]

Gone. Left the City again. Tch', he's becoming even more useless than you.

Then what're you still doing with me?

Fuck, you're the only person in this entire goddamned City I can trust. I'm not wasting that.

[ but he is going to just-- casually leave, because he's tired of this already, and Agito doesn't feel like following up that last sentence with anything else. ]

Wha—

[ ... ]

Wait a sec, that's your exit line?

[ REACHING OVER for the nearest object Kazu was supposed to throw, probably. whatever it is, Agito makes sure it's heavy enough to hurt, because he throws it across from where he is at the edge-- over to where Kazu's standing. ]

Shut up! I have better things to do than deal with your partial amnesia. [ --aand jumping off the side of the building, before Kazu has the chance to get the last word in. ]

[ whatever, baby shark. Kazu catches it, but by the time he's made his way to the edge, Agito's already taken off.

GRUMBLING ANYWAY. ]

Not like it's just my problem...

[Just watching for a while without drawing attention to himself.

Seems therapeutic, actually.

Since the device gets ruined he just leaves a response for whenever it gets around to being whole again and goes to deal with angst his way. Posing with a mostly stoic, but a bit sad face, mostly.]
