( Alexiel isn't one to sleep much, however she has noticed a certain fatigue. She has also noticed that there's a large key poking out of her back.

This can't be good. She isn't even halfway to the apartment yet.

Reaching for her communicator, she quickly turns it on and frowns. )

( Locked to Kira, Setsuna & Sara (if she happens to be looking). )

I'm losing energy. Fast. If it depletes completely, I -

( The lock fails... )

( Now the entire city is privy to Alexiel pausing in mid-motion, her expression stuck somewhere between curiosity and frustration. What the hell, City?

Where are you? Never mind! I'll...feel out for you.

( That's a good idea, Setsuna. She is looking like a statue. Again. )

[Searching for her, then.]

( She is on a sidewalk, looking quite...out of place. A random stranger is even poking at her sword and trying to loosen it from her waist.

Oh city life. )

[That's one NPC getting punched in the face, then. Setsuna lands, wings outstretched, expression fairly pissy.]

Don't you dare touch anything of hers, especially that!

[And without another word, he starts to wind Alexiel back up.] This is really awkward, you know. A curse like this is gonna be a pain. You might need to stay in close distance for the remainder of it.

( The punch is well-deserved. There's no way he would've been able to handle said sword.

Alexiel gives a little shudder when she is "awoken", glancing over her shoulder. )

A curse of dependency. ( This will be difficult for her. ) Thank you, Setsuna. ( She peers over his shoulder, looking for a similar key. )

Are you affected?

Yeah. Not something you're used to, huh? [Nothing back there but wings, and lots of feathers.]

[Big smile.] Nope! I'm fine. Which makes it easier for me to help out. We'd both be screwed if one of us was winding down while the other needed to be wound up.

( Is screwed the correct term for the situation? Unscrewed or need to be screwed seems more fitting, though she will only smile faintly (instead of correcting him). )

I'm relieved you're unaffected. ( Not just for her own sake. ) These curses are troublesome. They take away even our smallest freedoms.

( All of it only increases her anger towards the deities. )

[He doesn't think much about it and keeps going on.]

I am, too! I can better help people like this.

[A thoughtful pause.] They are very controlling, aren't they?

( She slides her hands into her pockets and purses her lips. )

You'll be busy. ( Since everyone will probably break down at different times. )

They rival another we know.

Better I be busy and involved, right? And breaking down at different times will make it easier, in a way.

...yeah. They do.

( That comment causes her to frown. She brings their foreheads together. )

Huh? [He stares back at her, eyes a little wide. He isn't sure himself.]

I just really want out of here.

[ Absolutely stricken. ]

Is that all? ( She focuses on his eyes, trying to read him. ) Nothing happened, right?

I'm alright. ( If she ignores her creaking, whirling and squeaking body. ) This is yet another curse.

It's still dangerous. Freezing up in the middle of the street like that!

At least there's no heavy traffic in the City.

Of course nothing happened.

You know I don't let stuff like that keep me down for long. And at the same time, I'm really torn. I kinda like things this way. It's just...Sara....

( Her eyebrows raise slightly. ) It must be hard for you seeing her here. Even if you reveal the future to her, she needs to come to her own conclusions and discover her own strength.

Yeah. Exactly. I can't just assume we're together. I mean, we will be, but we're not in her time.

She needs time to come into that herself. Other than that, I'm actually kinda happy here.

I believe someone attempted to steal Nanatsusaya. ( Before Setsuna walloped him. ) I think I will spend the rest of the curse in the apartment. ( Lest she worry everyone more. )

You love her nonetheless. Humans put far too much emphasis on relationships. Love can exist outside of bonds.

Yes. I do love her.

But I can't force that on her. It's just a matter of time. And I'm not the patient sort. That's all.

You've lasted this long. ( She gives him a faint smirk. ) She might surprise you.

That's a good idea.
