[Behold a view of Bruce's lab in City Solutions. In the corner, the coffee machine is spraying hot brown liquid. Lights are blinking crazily on and off, and Bruce is fending off a robot arm that seems determined to douse him in some kind of yellow foam while he fights his way to the lab door.

It looks like he might not make it, but a coat rack with a manically waving lab coat hung on one of its hooks rolls into view and gives Bruce enough time to get out the door, slamming and locking it.

The perspective changes, for the first time making it clear that this video transmission is coming from the lab's security cameras, showing Bruce pulling his network device out of his pocket.]

Security.

[The video blinks out and suddenly the feed is coming from his communicator's camera.]

Security, lock down the research floor for the day. You...ah... might want to check the rest of the building while you're at it.

[Behind him, the mesh-inforced glass window on the lab door suddenly floods with yellow foam and Bruce jumps in surprise before breaking into a trot, heading down the hall.]

This is another one of those hinky City things, right?

[Luke looks as if he's only just managed to stop laughing before turning on the video.]

Oh--what was that yellow stuff? Will you be alright? If you want me to hide you away from the mad objects, I am very good at hiding people.

[Bruce is still trotting, but one of his pens is inchworming its way up his shirt. He's too distracted to notice yet.]

Fire suppressant or insulating foam.

[All things considered, he's opting for the stairs over trusting the elevators.]

Eugh. [That sounds dreadful. And he's too interested in what the pen is doing to mention it quite yet.]

I'm in another empty flat. [He spins the camera around to show the utterly blank interior, lit by the curtainless window.] After I popped all the lightbulbs, there really wasn't anything left to bother me. Oh, except the wrestling match with the shower head, but I've tied it into several knots, now. I tried the forest, first, but none of the trees are very fond of me.

Saw a movie like this once, by King Stephen of Horror. Stay away from any- what are they called- driven machines with what appears to be a large steel rolling pin in front? It did not end well for the one confronting said steel rolling machine.

[He himself is sitting amongst seven knee high garden gnome statues who appear to be taking tea and sandwiches amidst adorable woodland creatures in someone's garden.]

I do wonder if the cube energy in the scepter discounts it from being inanimate. Or if not, whether there is enough energy there to open short range gateways as the cube itself is want to do.

[He can't help but stare a bit at the garden gnomes, but what the hell, it's a Loki.]

Where it's locked up, unless it colludes with its captors, it's going to stay right where it is.

Does make one wonder why our phones and such are still being kind. They are things, are they not? Could be spewing all of our personal and inflammatory material at this point.

[The gnomes just gun' stare right back.]

Really are a heavy hitter, aren't you? Mental note for that. Hopefully the scepter remains locked up, I do need to borrow it after this.

Yeah, more importantly, how are you? [One of them is pretty much unkillable, and it's not the cute ginger.]

I'm okay. My clothes competed for my attention this morning, then my hair dryer seemed to be too afraid of burning my scalp to let me use it, then literally all of my coffee cups demanded I drink from them before they let me leave the kitchen.

My belongings have been acting up, but so far none of them have been dangerous.

Of course not. [ yes there is, and it's pretty obvious ] Nothing mating on me that I know of. Bad day to be in a lab though.

[No one loves toasters in this town. Bruce is in the cafeteria with a host of dancing chairs in the background. At this point he has a smudged ink heart and another smudged something on his neck and no pen.]

That much I had worked out. People are experiencing differing levels of aggressiveness from the animated objects. How are things treating you?
