( o4 - VOICE & ACTION | grabbag weekend - anti-angst curse | joint post with Carla | OTA )
[You know how this one goes. Anti-angst means the sadder or more frustrated a citizen feels, the happier they'll express themselves. Those who have watched Carla's behavior in the last couple of months can guess how she'd be affected by something like this - Lou's been a little more artful about hiding his own sadness, and definitely less destructive, but this place hasn't had the chance to properly destroy him yet, has it.
The weekend rolls in and the curse hits two very specific roommates, ready to share their happiness with the rest of the world. (Maybe they won't get enough time to reach the world, just the city. It'll have to do.) Money, food, cooperation, freedom, love, anything that comes to mind as a synonym for comfort is what drives them to get through this weekend and make the most of life.]
You need to see this. All of you, no matter who you are. I want you to see this.
[He sounds breathless, triumphant, excited. Someone's been running around for a few good hours now.]
Go outside and look at the sky. Look at where you are - look at who you're with - hell, just look at your hands.
[Another exhale, and his tone brightens up.]
Isn't it amazing?

| A C T I O N OPTION A. Lewis and Carla are going around town entering any and every shop that catches their attention to buy random things. They're fully determined to offer these totally amazing presents to as many people as they possibly can, whether they're acquainted or not. From clothes to chocolate to a kitten to a kiss, it doesn't matter - you will probably be getting one or more of the above. OPTION B. But, well - as nice as their gesture is, these things cost money, and theirs doesn't last forever. As soon as it runs out they'll just happily conclude that it's so much better to go around taking those same presents (now including money from cash registers and random wallets), free of charge! Maybe Robin Hood was just a really happy guy, too. OPTION C. You can't talk about happiness and comfort without food, and neither can they. They'll just be over here stuffing themselves with all kinds of crap. Feel free to come over and ask if they'd be willing to share their cookies with you. Or just to ask if they're okay. |
